I can only interpret your stream of reaction images as a "yes."

A lot of DKC's "difficulty" comes from questionable collision detection, which makes me wonder how they're going to preserve it in Returns..

Weegee....dude....seriously. I suck at games and I've beaten DKC roughly 80,000 times since I was 7.

Exactly.  You've been playing it since you were seven.  That's a long time to practice at a game.

I've played other people's copies of the game semi-seriously, but I don't think I've ever tried to sit down and seriously make my way through it. I bought DKC2 on the VC, though, and last I checked, it was kicking my ass.

DKC2's pay-to-save system is terrible. Honestly, 3 is the only one I've enjoyed.

I accidentally double-paid for a save once because pressing "B" did not, in fact, get you out of the menu.

Double paid? I thought they became free after the first time you saved..?

Ghost edit: Wait, that's for flying. Nevermind.

DKC1 is the only save system I've enjoyed (pre Wii Home Menu saves) because it was free.

The last few posts makes me realize why exactly video games today are such a protective hand holding ordeal.

You kids and your insta-save, regenerating health and super guides. Back in my day, I beat half of DKC with my sister and the rest by myself, and I loved it.
As a game that requires six friends, an HDTV, and skill, I can see why the majority of TMK is going to hate on it hard.

DKC3's is free as well, unless I'm mistaken.

The reason I gave up on DKC1 is that you're given too few lives to make it to the later worlds' save points. Beating the first two levels of a given world 80,000 time only to die in the third for another 80,000 gets rather tiresome.

In comparison, I can 100% SMB3 in a single sitting.

* Toad ducks as Mr Wiggles throws his cane and assorted objects across the room.

Seriously, I agree. I also loved playing older games because of those reasons.

Weegee: I never played DKC3 until recently, actually, so I never knew how the save system was. I really don't care for DKC3 for some reason.

Man, if Weegee thinks DKC1 is hard, DONKEY KONG COUNTRY RETURNS will give him a cardiac arrest.
