Uh, I'm pretty sure he wasn't thinking about that (or anything much) at all.
That was a joke.

Well, some of my sister's friends and her friends' friends were killed.

Oh my god, that's horrible, seriously. I know how it is to lose a loved one, but it's especially awful when it's in a way like this. Your sister definately has my sympathy.

Holy... ugh. Horrible. Sorry, MB :(

In semi-related angst, 33 people died yesterday. What was the killer's motive? He was obviously possessed by God to punish America for the war in Iraq and condoning gays.

Why must there always be some psychotic butthead(s) saying stuff like that on the Internet after a horrible tragedy? It was the same deal with Hurricane Katrina and a million other horrible events. Do they mourn? No. Instead, they make an insulting, demeaning, offensive website saying it's God punishing America for gay marriage or whatever. It's sickening.

What an idiot. Any fool who makes a site claiming that God did this because He hates us has some problems.

I think it's less of using that as a motive to kill, because God ordered people to kill in the Bible, but rather an excuse to say we've done stuff wrong and we're screwed.
I'm a horrible person.

I just find it hard to believe that God hates the people He created.

Did God ever really ask someone to kill for him? I thought the commandments said that you're not supposed to kill.

« Reply #2185 on: April 17, 2007, 04:22:00 PM »
No, He doesn't. People today are too stupid to see war and all the crap that happens any way else other than this: "Ohmygosh, God hates us because bad stuff happens!" Do they not know that there's evil too?

Obviously, those are extremists who hold views quite opposite of real followers of Christ... it's just sad that the media gives them the time of day, and as a result, that's what a lot of non-Christians think Christians represent.  The same goes for Jack Thompson/Dr. Phil trying to pin this tragedy on video games-- even before the killer's identity was revealed.  The way so many are trying to use this devastating occurrence to further their personal agendas is just sickening.

Yeah, it upsets me to see video games always blamed for horrible tragedies. Let me ask the older members here: Before video games, didn't people still kill other people?
