Diddy Kong has recently appeared in several Mario spin-off games.  Now DK's buddy enters the arena as the latest fighter to be unveiled for Super Smash Bros. Brawl.  The slightly late update on Smash Bros. DOJO notes that Diddy's moves aren't sufficiently captured by screenshots.  It also mentions that Diddy brings along some technological moves: the Rocketbarrel Boost and the Peanut Pop Gun.  See the rest of Diddy's screens at the link below.

I wasn't expecting this.  This makes me wonder how many characters they are really going to have.

He can fly real high with his jetpack on. With his pistols out, he's one cool Kong.

Awesome! You gotta love Diddy Kong! And to think that I went to bed before this update!

I always figured this would go too much into Rare territory, but... sure, why not?

I wonder just how fast he'll be.
Remember that your first Goomba boldly you walk? When Mario touched that mushroom being brought up more largely remember that you are surprised? Miscalculate your jump that pit remember that it falls?

At least they aren't showing every waking moment and look ridiculously white and square.

Finally someone else from the DK series. Now if we could get someone for Yoshi and Wario...

Yoshi's universe... I don't quite see anyone else who would fit (THAT IS NOT AN OBSCURE, UNNECESSARY BOSS WHO WOULD DO NOTHING BUT LOOK COOL). Please do not say Birdo belongs in Brawl. Yoshi might as well be tied in with "Team Mario" and have the Mushroom Emblem and SMB victory music... or perhaps not. It doesn't seem like it'd be quite right... It would makes just as much sense as Bowser sharing Mario's emblem and victory jingle--if you think, the jingle Bowser WANTS to hear is Mario's game over music.
Perhaps, every character should have their own victory tune, regardless of whose "team" their emblem indicates? Peach's would be the short piece heard when you save her in SMB. Ganondorf's would be the music heard when you die in Ocarina of Time, maybe (or perhaps in Twilight Princess... hang on, I don't remember TP's death music....).

Bowser should have a rock version of the SMB victory, or maybe a minor key version.

Nah, Bowser has his own themes.  The one from SM64 would do well.

I just find it hard to picture that in the form of a six-second snippet. That's all.

When I saw this update 2 days ago, I was like "Finally."
The Mario series is the best! It has every genre in video games but RTS'! It also has a plumber who does different roles, a princess, and a lot of odd creatures who don't seem to poop!

I think having chimp noises going on throughout battles will be great!

Chimps don't have tails.

Monkey noises, chimp noises.  They seem interchangeable to me.

Being the anomaly that I am, I loved Donkey Kong 64.  Thus, when I read that Diddy will use his peanut gun, something inside of me burst with nostalgia.  :)
...And it hurt terribly.
Maybe there is more to me than there is to me...
