I originally thought Birdo was a boy until SMAS, when the bow was added (although the bow is missing in the cast roll at the end).

I never really cared. I was a little kid who was like "omg monster I kill you?" When I first saw the bow on the head, don't know when it was... I didn't even think it any different, like I'd known she was she all the time.
