I dunno. I'd root for Mario, but I think Sonic would win. Then again, Mario DID defeat an invincible 1,000 years old Queen of evil.

Sonic had only beaten Eggman's robots, and a few creatures in Super mode. Super mode! Mario was normal when he beat the Shadow Queen.

I've changed my mind. Mario would win.

Sonic hasn't jujst fought Eggman. He also fought Chaos, God of Destruction (although in Super mode) and the Biolizard (though still in Super mode and with help from Shadow who was also in Super mode).

But think about how strong Mario is. He was able to throw a house-sized Bowser in SM64 and is able to bench-press all the unsold copies of Catwoman. Has Sonic ever done lifting that heavy?

If MARIO went into super mode, he would destroy Sonic. Mario can defeat invincible creatures in normal mode.

Sonic is weak, but his speed allows him to do things such as spin through robots and rocks. Mario could do that with his fists.

Mario doesn't have a "super mode," unless you mean his normal size with a mushroom. And Sonic is capable of running past the speed of sound. Mario could not keep up. And it doesn't matter if Mario beat a demon, Sonic beat a god.

Man, there was a time where I liked Sonic, but I'm starting to hate him now, with all those crappy games he has out. It would seem the more Mario evolves, the more Sonic gets worse. He's like a family pet: He's been good for 15 years, but now he's crapping on the carpet.

Besides, Sonic didn't beat Chaos. It lived, but Mario destroyed the Queen.
