I agree about the blue shell thing. I went through a race where i was in first and in a manner of about 30 seconds two blue shells struck me 5 seconds apart, followed by a POW and a red shell. I ended up in 3rd place.

I assume lag is different in Mario Kart than it is in Super Smash Bros., so I might be able to actually play.

Virtually none. The only problem I've noticed is somewhat spotty weapon impact detection.


Maybe in the next week or so we can have a TMK MKWii night, maybe I'll give away a free wii wheel to the winner or something.

I didn't know you had a son. I mean, not like I'm stalking you and keeping tabs on all your personal information, it's just that from the pictures of you I've incidentally observed, I would have guessed you were younger than that.

Ideally, this should be taken as a non-creepy, non-awkward compliment.

But we don't live in an ideal world.

Because if we did, we wouldn't have toys made out of lead.

Got GTA IV, haven't had a chance to play it, I will once the baby falls asleep/halftime of the basketball games tonight. I can't wait, everyone says it's the best of the series.

Nintendo is recalling a series of lapel pins that were sold through Nintendo World Store and given away as promotional items to retailers, due to possible lead poisoning. The pins are pictured above (click to enlarge). I know I have just about all of these. Good thing I didn't let my son get a hold of them!

I think what Vid is denouncing is the people that resist change and the Blue Ocean strategy of Nintendo. I didn't gather that idea from a psuedo-scientific experiment, especially since it seemed that the Wiimote/nunchuck variation faired quite well.

The Wii Wheel, to me, is fun to use, but I can't get down turning and it tries too hard to be precise, if that makes sense?

To each their own, but it's good ol' GC controller for me :-P

How ironic: a site whose namesake could *possibly* be derived from the Super Mario franchise always seems to be the quickest to criticize said franchise. Most visitors know how much we bemoaned their choices in the past, and now they got a new article up to boil the blood of Mario fans. Jeremy Parish's blog lays out exactly why he disliked Mario Kart Wii, from stating Mario Kart: Double Dash!! was a better title to calling the new tricks option "the stupid, stupid tricks system." Read on to see if his complaints are merited, or if they're just "explosively awful."

I got it today... at GameCrazy... and thusforth had to endure an embarassing Wii Fit shill not once, but twice (once with me, once with me and my dad) by the noobish clerk ("It's tracks your BMI, blah blah blah, it's the hottest game this year, blah blah blah..."). So I'm pretty much broke now (at the piggy bank at least), though no games currently announced for the rest of... ever are grabbing my interest, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Better than what GameStop was pushing (Rock Band? sigh..)
