Based on the titles of some of the stars, both in Japanese and English, the variation is the island.

Star 2: The Tip Top of the Huge Island

Star 4: チビじまの５シークレット                チビじま = chibijima = tinyisland

Furthermore, Coins and 1-Up Mushrooms can be used as an external frame of reference to prove that Mario is staying the same size as normal.

Your computer's messed up. We've gone 0.275% of the way after ten years. That means assuming a linear rate, we'll finish in 3636 years.

But it's not a linear rate. Our progress has slowed drastically over time. I'm not going to do calculus to find a better estimate because that wouldn't be correct either.

Because we will not finish.

It was definitely not Brooks for two reasons:

1) He got the desire to work at Nintendo after calling the tip hotline for help with an NES game. SMB was already released before he started.

2) If he had named Bowser too, he surely would have mentioned it in one of his interviews about the Koopalings.

Haven't there always been popular short 3 to 4 minute pop songs? I don't think any musical era was filled with epic saga albums as a majority...

Janelle Monáe probably has the biggest popular concept albums currently. Have you listened to those?
