Mario Chat / Re: Yoshi's Island GBA...

Yeah, there's some quality evil in those levels.  A lot of stuff like "hey, lets make an evil level with lots of ______," several moments where I just laughed or said "wow- can they do that?"  and a few moments where I thought "throughout the game they show you all these ranodm enemies and elements.  Now, they put you to the test..."

As for the enemy omissions, it's mainly just trivial stuff.  Down a pipe in Bigger Boo's fort (I think) is a place where there's a bunch of ! switch coins and blocks, a blindfolded ghost, and several ghost balloons, two of which contained ! switches:  they got rid of the balloon ghosts that had nothing.  And a few instances in which you hit a turtle shell through several enemies to get a 1-up:  the enemies were replaced by Baron Von Zeppelins (balloons with needlessly elaborate names) chained to the ground.
I can't remember any other instances...

Like any other remake, the easied it up a little.  Not so much as SMA 1 and 2, but the differences are there.  Extra lives are even MORE abundant (though this was never really an issue,) a few choice enemies are missing, and Reaphael no longer stomps electricity around the moon.
But the new secret levels mores than make up for it.  Oh ho ho, are they ever evil!

But yeah, as far as I can tell, all of the secrets and mini games still remain.

Ah, the most evil of stages.
First of all, there's the front side and the back side.  You probably know this, but it's best to not try to climb your way up the back side.  It's possible to get some of the coins that way, but not worth the trouble.

Anyway:  the problem in this level comes from a big, invisible rectangle that covers most of the upper-left corner.  While Mario is in this, he will go to the right.  Try pressing left:  he goes to the right.  Try butt-stomping:  he goes right.  Try hovering:  right.  It counters any physics that happen to be in the rest of the game, but that's how it is.
How to get around this?  There are two ways that I've seen work.  One is doing a perfectly timed butt-stomp, but that can be tricky.  You have to press the button as Mario's coming up the shaft, just as he enters the force box.  The other way is to wall jump up the entry shaft, and hover at the very bottom of the force rectangle.  It'll push you outwards, and then you can time a perfect drop from right above the opening.
The other coins should be rather easy to get compared to that one, though there are still a few things to keep in mind:
- Be sure to use the hover nozzle and aim your falls.  If Mario starts getting bounced around too much, it may be hard to tell where he'll land.
- You can jump around a bit from the nails, as long as it's not the one on the fringe of that force rectangle.  Just be sure to know where you're landing.
- Don't try to recover if you've fallen to the bottom area.  It's wasted effort, and will only agitate you.

....

Well, that's all that I can think to say on the matter.  That pachinko is one mean level...

I'd guess it's the underworld music from Super Mario Bros.

I've currently got 118.
And if you think it's too easy now, *~*Stealth-LinK*~*, wait 'till you're scrounging the last remaining levels for single blue coins.  Providing you're not using a cheat guide. *bleaugch*

I guess that's my cue.
Mario Sunshine's been keeping me busy as of late, so I've not been around much; I'm only one shine and 17 blue coins away from completion!

Anyway: I'll need to check the levels...
*plays 6-7*
*plays 2-6*
*plays 4-*  Got it!
From what I can tell, the answer is the countdown block with the number 3 displayed on it.  Both 2-6 and 4-3 contain one, but for it to show up in 6-7, you need to jump off from the "4" countdown block and decrement it.

There wasn't anything super-professional; they were all just homemade costumes (barring the Nintendo-made Mario, of course.)  Still, they ranged from low quality, with construstion paper, or even just a guy with a hat and moustache, to high quality, nice "M"s on hats, real overalls, and props.  A nice full gamut of Mario costumes.

Eh, there have also been many complaints among Yoshi fans about the SSBM rendition of Yoshi.  I, personally, don't mind, but the accuracy of the SSBM models is really just a matter of opinion...

Meh, I've been busy cleaning up HTML in the General Chat forum.  But your 4-4 question is kind of vague.  What's it got that the other castles have, but is different in this level?  That could be any number of things...  the normal level music at the beginning, a level you can go through in any order, a boss you can beat by eating...
I dunno.  If you want an answer, I think you'll have to be a bit more specific.

3200 pounds of pasta!
Very nice!
I live close enough to have been able to go (dressed up as Mario, of course!)  It's a shame that I didn't make it into the final 5 Marios (and 1 Luigi,) but there were some pretty good Marios there, armed with fire flowers, F.L.U.D.D.s, and even a bob-omb.  Still, I'm glad I was able to go.  Seeing that Luigi dive into and dig around in the pasta was really something to behold.

And now that you've moved it, it no longer works.  And right now I'd rather let the whole of General Chat sink under the curtain of oblivion than have to wade through Xizer's garbage again.
