Mario Chat / It's been a while...

Hello all my Fungi Forum friends!  I haven't been here in so long...Gosh, look at all the new names!

Well, as a few of you know, the reasons I haven't been in is I have been very busy in college.  The fact of the matter is I still am (should be studying for a test as we speak), but I miss posting here, so I thought I'd break and come on in.

Has everything been going well?  Are people as giddy over SSBM as I am?  What about Warioland 4?  Man, I have a lot to catch up on in discussions with my great Nintendo fan friends!

Also, for those of you who have read my story in the Story Boards and are angry at me for leaving you, note that it WILL be concluded by the end of tomarrow. :)

Once again, let me say "Hello, I missed ya!" to all my friends here from over the summer, and "Hello, welcome aboard! I hope you are enjoying it here!" to all the people who are new since I vanished.

Hey everyone.  I just wanted to say how fun this summer was coming here.  From posting theories, to posting opinions, to keeping the peace on the board (smiles at $$Wario$$), I had a good time.

With college starting up again, my posts may become less frequent (or they may stay the same if I'm neglecting homework...), but I'll still pop in when I can.  Gotta finish "A Mario Adventure" in the story boards, afterall!

Keep an eye out for some Roy Koopa fan art, possibly coming soon.  See ya around!

Mario Chat / Mario Kart: Super Circuit

I played an advanced copy of MK:SC today, and all I can say is Mario Kart fans rejoice!!  This game is so cool!  It has the feel of the original with the look of 64!  I already love it.  I've got a little info to share, but if you'd rather be surprised, stop reading.

Okay, if you're still here, that means you don't care anout knowing some stuff early.  Not a lot, but:

VOICES=
Most voices are the Mario Party versions.  Yoshi's is his Yoshi's Story version.  Frankly, I would have prefered the Mario Tennis or MK64 versions of all of them, especially Luigi and Wario.  Oh well.

LAPS=
There are only three, like in 64, rather than 5 like in the original.  I'd prefer 5, but I didn't play some of the longer courses.  And maybe you can change the lap number...I don't know!

RANDOM=
There's now a Random Character selection.  That's cool!

That's it for now.  I just wanted to plug this game a little because it's AWESOME!!  Bye.

Mario Chat / RK's Music Poll #2

Despite lack-luster replies on Music Poll #1 (where you were asked, "What's your favorite Castle Music?"), I am going to continue with Music Poll #2!

This time, the catagory is 'Fast-Overworld Music'.

I wanted to split the "Overworld" catagory up even more, since there are so many.  This includes ballads such as "Hop! Hop! Donut Lifts" in Yoshi's Island, or level 1-3 of SMB3, or Bandits Way of MarioRPG.  Get it?

My vote: "Hop! Hop! Donut lifts!" from SMW2: Yoshi's Island, along with other levels with the same tune.  Second place: SMW's 'Yoshi's Island 3.'

Mario Chat / Roy Koopa's Mario Music Poll #1

Hello everybody.  I want to post some new topics, so here they come!

Now, I am a huge fan of Mario music.  I've downloaded many midis and listen to WTMK a lot.  I feel I can't do Mario music justice by just asking "What's your favorite over all?", so instead I am going to break it down into sections.  Catagories like "Overworld Themes," "Map Screens," and "Castle Themes."

Let's start with that last one: "Castle Themes."  Concidereing all the different castle musics from different mario games, which is your favorite?

My vote: "SMW2:Yoshi's Island".  That game's castle music always gets stuck in my head and I love it.  Second place is SMW's.

Mario Chat / Mario's Planet

Okay, we know that Mario's world is an alternate dimention from ours.  It has several different kingdoms, including the Mushroom K., the Koopa K., Sarasaland, Warioland, the Booster Empire, Nimbus Land, etc.  But has anyone concidered a name for the planet all these kingdoms are on?

I'm currently (and slowly) drawing a Super Mario Land comic.  In it, Tatanga is trying to take over the planet.  Problem is, Mario's planet has no NAME.  It's kinda difficult to keep avoiding the planet's name, so I thought I'd make one up.  And, since all the best Mario fans find their way here, I thought I'd consult the board!

So, any suggestions?  My best was "Miyamoto."  Another was Snes or Nes (get it?).  Star Treck fans might like the sound of En 64 of the Nintendo system.  I know all of these are cheesy, but that's kinda what I'm going for.  Any one else have any ideas?

General Chat / Who reads Comic Books?

Well, I do.  I am a DC comic fan and collector.  I collect "Young Justice" by Peter David, "Robin" and "Nightwing" by Chuck Dixon, and "Batgirl" by Kelly Puckett

I am a big Batman fan, and used to collect every Batman title, but wallet restrictions have forced me to downsize.

I love comic books, being a bit a a writer/artist myself.  Young Justice is definetly my favorite.  It is written and draw just the way I like it, and I highly recomend it to anyone here.

So, who else reads/collects comics?  If your a Marvel fan, that's okay.  Nobody's perfect (kidding!  Spider-Man and the X-men are awesome!)

Comic lovers, unite!!

Fan Creations / A Mario Adventure--creative title, huh?

Hello.  Roy Koopa here.  As some of you know, I draw Mario comics based on Mario games.  I still want to share them with you all someday on the net, but until then, maybe I can practice some just text stories here.  My first attempts at the Story Board "Super Wario RPG" were just written off, so I'm starting my own.  If you want to contribute, go ahead.  I just ask that you please follow the line of the story, and don't bring in non-Mario characters.  Okay, here we go!

It was a bright morning at The Pipe House.  Mario was already awake and cooking some breakfast as Luigi continued to sleep in.

"Weegie!  You snooze you loose, bro!" Mario called into the bedroom.

"Wha?  Oh come on, Mario, it's only 9:30!" Luigi grumbled, "Let me sleep a little longer..."

"I think somebody forgot that a certain Princess from Sarasaland is visiting a certain Princess from the Mushroom Kingdom today at 11" Mario said with a smile.

Luigi's eyes popped open.  In a flash, he showered, got dressed, and was at the breakfast table.  "Thanks man," Luigi said, "I nearly HAD forgotten that Daisy was coming today.  How do I look?"

Mario looked away from the bacon and glanced at his bro.  The plumber looked just like he always did: tall, a bit lanky, big mustache, blue overalls, green shirt and green hat.  "You think maybe I should wear the green overalls and the blue shirt today?"  Mario just laughed.

"Luigi, stop being so nervous!" he said, "You don't have to try so hard to impress Daisy.  I'm pretty sure she likes you, anyway."

"Ha!  Easy for you to say.  You already have a Princess!" Luigi replied.

Mario laughed again.  "Come on, Luigi.  Who else could she possibly have interest in?"

"It's just that..." Luigi started, "It's just that we're so different.  She to be on the move, to be daring.  Me, I like to stay out of trouble when it can be avoided.  I like her so much, Mario, but I just don't know if she likes me"

"Luigi you are such a pessimist!" Mario said with a smile, "Who would Daisy possibly want to date besides you?"

At that moment, the door flew open.  "HELLO THERE!" a voice said from the doorway.  It was Wario, an old "freind" of the Mario Bros who always wanted to show them up at every turn.  Wario came strolling into the kitchen with his usual wide grin on his face and evil look in his eye.

"Ever here of a doorbell?" Mario asked angrily.

"I was just walking by your house when I overheard that the lovely Princess Daisy was visiting today." Wario said, "So I thought I would join you two today to meet the nice lady.  So, when do we leave?"

"YOU can leave now," Mario said, "WE will be going to the castle without the likes of you."

"Whatever, I'l go alone then," Wario said, "I want to meet this Daisy one-on-one anyway.  Later, losers!  Heh heh heh!"

Wario slammed the door as he left.  "Good ridence" Mario said.  he looked back at Luigi, who seemed worried.  "What's wrong?" Mario asked.

"You don't think Daisy would go for a guy like...Wario, do you?" Luigi asked nervouly.

"WARIO?!  Are you nuts!?  No girl would fall for him!" Mario said, "Let's just get going, okay, Weegie?"

"Yeah yeah, sure sure.  And don't call me Weegie."

Mario Chat / Okay, now I'd like to talk with everyone else.

Hi.  Roy here.  I've been posting for several months, and  really enjoy this board.  That in mind, I want to dicuss some recent events.

Many of you know $$Wario$$.  Many of you hate $$Wario$$.  And not without reason; he insulted you, he hurt you.  Some topics have become "Someone VS $$Wario$$" flame wars, and that's not cool.  Nothing gets settled that way.  The fire is just fed, that's all.

Yesterday, I posted a topic specifically for $$Wario$$.  I wanted to talk to him in a civilized manner.  I wanted to try to reason with him.  And it worked (read, "$$Wario$$, can I talk to you a minute?").  He's apologized, and he wants to stick around.  I believe him, and I'm asking everyone else to as well.

I know this will be hard.  Sonic, Kamek, KinopioToad, and others here have been personally offended by $$Wario$$.  You are probably all thinking, "I still hate this guy.  I still want him banned for what he said about me."  I ask you, sincerely, to NOT think that!  Instead, forgive the guy and drop the grudge.  If you are nice to him, he will be nice to you.

I really think this will work, but it needs the cooperation of EVERYBODY.  If just one person posts a flame against $$Wario$$, all this progress could be lost.  Please, everybody, forget about the past and move on.

Sonic (AKA PTC), Kamek, and KinopioToad, I know this will be difficult, but I think this can be done.  Forgiveness can be a powerful thing.

$$Wario$$, the only time I've responded to you is when you were asking for a second chance, which I believed in.  I didn't vote in your "15 and I leave" topic, and, at the moment, I still don't plan to.  In fact, I basically just want to ignore anything you post that is mean.  But, right now, I want to talk.  That's it.

It seems you just come here to insult others, to rile them up, to get attention.  Why?  This is supposed to be a fun place to just come and chat with a bunch of people who are Mario fans.  I don't know a lot of people in person who like to discuss this kind of stuff nowadays, and this board was a welcome find.  Please, stop bashing others and just relax.

I know that, since you came here in the first place, you must be a sort of Mario fan.  You use a Mario-name and have posted several non-violent Mario topics which were cool.  Don't you want to have a place to just talk Mario?  You really don't have to keep trying to get banned.

So, $$Wario$$, I implore you, please stop making fun of people (Sonic and Kamek in particular) and just relax.  Have fun, in a polite way.  Talk Mario.  Enjoy the company of others instead of pushing them away.

And for the record, the name Wario does not mean you have to act mean.  Mine's Roy Koopa, the baddest of the Koopa Kids, and I don't feel I have to hurt others!

That's all I wanted to say.  Please take this seriously.  Thank you for your time.

Mario Chat / Donkey Kong Theory

This theory relates to Mario's first adventure, Donkey Kong.  The setting: Brooklyn, NY, construction site:

Mario and Luigi are currently working as carpenters for a construction company.  Mario is also currently dating the lovely Pauline, a highschool-sweetheart.  Every day, Pauline eats her lunch period with Mario at the site, while Luigi goes off with some fellow co-workers.

Meanwhile, in another dimention all together, the two apes, Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr. are out in the forests of Donkey Kong Country on the lookout for Kremlings and/or bananas.  They instead dicover a strange Warp Pipe.  Since thease arre rare in DKC, they investigate.  Entering the pipe, they arive on Earth.

Earth is an odd world, where the apes don't even talk.  But, then, the two are found by a human scientist, and are captured!  DK Sr. is furious, and bangs his chest and shout obsenities in outrage.  The apes are brought to NY to be examined and studied.  While being transported, they escape and run away.

Meanwhile, it is now lunch at the site, and Mario is waiting for Pauline.  Pauline is walking to him, when, suddenly, two apes coming crashing into her.  Angry, Donkey Kong snatches Pauline as a hostage and quickly climbs the construction site.  DK Jr. hides.

Mario witnesses this and grabs a hammer and chases DK up the builiding.  DK is, in the mean time, throwing barrels off the building at Mario.  Mario chases DK higher and higher, till he is successful in freeing Pauline and sending DK back down the building.  All is well...or is it?

Mario Chat / The Princess Theories #2: Daisy

This theory I really just recently made up.  The "resurrection" of Daisy has made me very interested in her character, so I did what I love to do and made a theory up about her origin.  Here it is:

Unlike the Mario Bros. and Peach, Daisy was not an orphan.  She really didn't have the best childhood, though.  Her parents passed away when she was young--like around 10 or 12--and she was sent to live with her grandparents.  She lived with them for about ten years, when, due to old age, they passed on as well.  Depressed, Daisy went into a deeply wooded area somewhere in the Appalachians to be alone.  There, Daisy, too sad to really be watching where she's going, falls down a strange hole into an unserground cave.  In the cave, there is a giant, green pipe.  Thinking this is the only way back to the surface, Daisy crawls into it.

Of course, this is Warp Pipe.  It leads her to Sarasaland.  Confused, yet curious, Daisy explores this strange land.  She eventually meets some Sarasalandians (Mushroom people, only they look Asian).  They befriend her and take her to King Chai, ruler of Sarasaland and friend of Chancellor Toadstool.  Daisy stays with the King a while, leading the king to think of her as the daughter he never had and her to think of him as the father she once knew.  Eventually, the King asks her to stay in Sarasaland as his daughter.  Daisy accepts, and she becomes Princess Daisy of Sarasaland.  She soon meets Peach of the Mushroom Kingdom, and the two become fast friends.

Mario Chat / The Princess Theories #1: Peach

Here's another theory, this one relating to Princess Peach.  Once again , this can kinda have two versions.  If you believe humans can be born in the Mushroom Kingdom, then that's it.  Peach is the Chancellor's daughter.  However, if you think all MK humans are from earth, like I do, then here's what I've always believed:

Peach was a baby orphan just like the Mario Bros.  In fact, she even lived in the same orphanage that they lived in!  Granted, they were a few years older than her, so they were usually off playing with their friends.  Anyway, little Peach (who was not actually named Peach yet) was in the bathtub being cleaned by one of the adults.  The adult was distracted for a minute (maybe the phone rang or something) so Peach was alone.  Peach, being curious, pulls the plug out and is then sucked down the Warp Pipe into the Mushroom Kingdom (Let this be a lesson: don't leave a baby in tub alone!)

In the strange land, poor Peach is scared and begins craying her poor eyes out.   It is then that Mushroom Chancellor Toadstool and some gaurds are passing buy.  They discover the infant girl.  Chancellor Toadstool imediately falls in love with the poor, strange baby and takes her in as his own daughter.  She is raised in the Mushroom Kingdom as Princess Peach Toadstool and really only knows her life there.

Mario Chat / Koopa Kid Theory

Hello.  Roy Koopa here.  I am posting some fun theories I have made up over the years.  I posted this one a while back under "another weird theory", so some of you may have read it already.  Those of you who haven't, I would love to hear your thoughts about it, or maybe you have a theory of your own.  Here it is:

"My weird threory of the Koopa Kids realates to Yoshi'd Island. Kamek and Baby Bowser mess with the Mushroom Kingdom Stork Baby Delivery system by doing the unthinkable: kidnapping a stork and a baby and trying to get the other one! After the Yoshis help, the stork returns to its comrads and tells what happened. The other storks think of a fitting punishment...

Years later. Bowser is grown up, when he gets a knock at the door. He opens it to find that the storks have delivered SEVEN little terrors for him to raise! They're the brattiest, whiniest, meanest kids the storks could find. The storks didn't take into account that Bowser would be proud of those traits, though, and that he would raise them to help him terrorize the Mushroom Kingdom. Oops on they're part.

So thats my theory about how Bowser has kids without having a wife. The storks delivered them as a would-be punishment for his kidnapping babies all those years ago.
