Hmmm,me to. I've always thought it was his head,but in the first episode of the SMBSS he took it off and used it as a parachute. Hmmm frostbite, why don't you bless us with your theory?

Okay, I'm not a frostbite or whatnot, but here it goes:
At first look, the Toadshroomicus Reddotalis' head looks like a part of them, but look at the pixels, and you'll see that the is a microscopic line between the so-called "hat" and a near invisible shadow on their face, therefore, it's a hat. Then again, it might be a little off, but that's my guess!

Oh, BTW, why does toad have a parachute in SSBM? I always thought he was a guard for Peach. I mean, he is a Mushroom Retainer, but that's ridiculous!

I'm not talking about Super Smash Brothers Melee,I'm taliking about the Super Mario Bros. Super Show,the cartoon.In the first episode"The bird!The Bird!" at one point toad is falling so he takes his mushroom hat of and uses it as a makeshift parachute.

GY, your scientic name for mushroom person doesn't make any sense. It would be Fungi Sapien.

And besides, they wouldn't be mushroom people if those weren't actual spore caps. They'd just be vest-wearing midgits with stupid hats.

I always thought of the mushrooms as actual mushrooms. The TV show isn't the best source to get info. They have some diffrent stuff from the games, so it might not be a real mushroom.

Thats probly his head if I were him I wouldnt wear a hat that made me weigh 20 extra pounds it looks heavy and big. A hat would crease and eventually break if Toad was hit by something going fast or knocked upside down right? MK64 his mushroom don't break when hit or if he spins in the air it don't fall off so its his natural head.

Here's my theory. In SMB, at the end of World 6 or 7, I think, in AllStars, the Toads that come out of the bag have their heads stuck up inside one large "spore" hat. It makes it look like they're all wearing one big hat. I may be wrong, though.
