He was only in 2-d but recently he moved on to the third dimension
Gently push a piece of the tube containing the intersection along the fourth dimension, out of the original three dimensional space.

Recently is 12 years ago?

Also how do you not live in the 4th dimension if that is time?

Also "alternate dimensions" doesn't mean spatial/time dimensions.
That was a joke.

Well, as long as we're talking about alternate realities, time/space, and quantum theory, twelve years is pretty dang recent.

I "believe in" Mario.  That is to say that Mario gives me hope.  Hope that the next Mario game will be as good as or better than SMG and that Mario games will continue to be innovative and fun.

This is similar to my "believe in" God.  It's more of a personal "hope" about the future than a believe in a given fact.  That is to say it is not based on any physically testable hypothesis and therefor requires one to "believe in" rather than to simply "believe" something.

I do not "believe in" evolution.  I do, however, strongly "believe" evolutionary theory based on the vast amount of evidence that supports it.

Sorry to bring religion and evolution into this discussion, but I think the difference between "believing" something and "believing in" it is likely the reason for some of the varied opinions on Mario, the Universe, and Everything.
