Bowser and Peach: Amber Alert
(I've thought of this for a while...I'm into true crime stories so it came to mind)

What's annoying about this is that someone who is almost half my age can pick up on this stuff better than me. They claimed the Game Cube had the easiest games of the systems that came out five years ago but frankly I find the old Nintendo 64 way easier. Maybe I'm just getting old?!?

I normally don't post in one of these vent sections, but I'm really upset with The Home Depot right now.

My contractor went to Home Depot to get some ceiling tiles for my basement. He had this 10% off coupon and the guy tried to lie to him and say that it wouldn't work until 12/15. Well, that's not what this coupon said. The best part? He had boxes of ceiling tiles (four huge ones), left them at the register, and stormed out. (He got them at another Home Depot for the lower price...they took it).

But here's where we're both mad. I'm looking at putting two sets of bifold doors in. There are no matching doors at either Home Depot he has tried. There are a few more in the area, but this is just stupid. Why would you only have one of each? Most people use pairs of bifold doors, at least when they install closets.

Anyway, this whole basement thing has two weeks to get done so we're cutting it close.

Video Game Chat / Another DS Question
« on: December 06, 2006, 09:22:07 PM »
This one actually is on behalf of my mother, relating to my grandfather.

My grandfather (77 years old) has a DS that he uses for one of those brain games (I think he has two different ones--Brain Age and Big Brain Academy? They ring a bell) and she wants to get him another game. The one in question is Madden (he's a big NFL fan). Now I like Madden on the Game Cube (but only on easy mode...haha) and she is thinking of getting Madden for his DS.

Is anyone familiar with this game? Is it as good as the Game Cube version, and would it be good for a guy who is 77 years old (and has reflexes about as good as mine)?

Yeah, I guess I'm late posting my Christmas list. But here's what I want:

1. A new lamp for my living area.
2. Some gift certificates for baseball tickets and Abercrombie.
3. As strange as this sounds, I need a new mop.
4. Some quality time with my friends.
5. Continued good health of my ancient dog.

I finally got a new one. It's a picture of my seven best friends and I.

OK, here's an example of one of the dreams. PLEASE ANALYZE THIS ONE.

I'm at the mall with some of my friends. I am going to pick up some polos at Abercrombie when I am told to go outside to tend to an emergency. Men move me into what was once a store and is now a chamber. Inside are my friends (who somehow got from Abercrombie to this chamber). They are all tied up except for a few. They are getting rounded up. I wind up talking to one of my buddies but he falls down and is taken away. One of them starts rambling on and on (he does it all the time in real life as well). He too goes down. There's another guy who is being chased by a man with scissors. He falls into another friend of mine (she falls down when he collides). Another guy hurts his back while trying to escape. It looks like all my "free" friends are tied up now. Then, in the middle of the room, is one of them. She's wearing a white top and looks terrified. Sweat is pouring down this girl like crazy. I go in to see what's up and she just grabs ahold of me. I do the same to her, telling her everything wil be okay. These weird guys wearing weird black clothes surround us and we embrace very tightly as if something will happen. Both of us were perspiring like crazy at this point. I woke up as soon as the guy who rambles on and on yelled something.

This dream happened in July 2005. I've been puzzled by it ever since.

Then, without warning, Dave sprung back up, having not been killed but having faked it instead.

Almost all my dreams involve my friends from high school. I graduated in 2005. Any explanation?

No, but if you aren't sure what something is and you get into an accident, you may turn into her cousin, GimpyGirl.

Is my hypothesis correct?

"Call on Me" JJ Stockholm Club Mix by Eric Prydz
Previous track was "Ecstasy" by ATB (unmixed version from the album "No Silence")

Dave and Victoria were upset that he was walking around with his huge "J" instead of helping them find a green muscle fit Deer Brook polo shirt in medium.

Video Game Chat / Re: Mario Kart DS...is it any good?

Wow, am I relieved! Sounds like I made the right choice. And yes, even on Black Friday morning it was $35. I'm so glad that she'll have a great game to start her DS library with. Anything to put a smile on her face--she's pretty much the only family I've got (besides my grandparents, mother, uncle, and golden retriever) so I always make sure she gets the best.

Not to change the subject, but my grandparents also bought her Nintendo Dogs for the DS. Is that a winner as well?

Mario Kart 64: I like this game overall. If anything's annoying about it, it would have to be the changing scroll speed of different tracks. The jungle one is really slow sometimes but really fast other times. It all depends on how many people play. I haven't played since August so the player numbers are blank off the top of my head.

Mario Kart for Game Cube: The most annoying thing about this is that I lose to my 12 year old cousin all the time on it. And that I can't play anything above 50 cc very well. Basically, I wish there was some way to make this game easier.

Both: What annoys me is when people ridicule me for using Peach. On the Nintendo 64 version, I almost always beat people with her, about 97% of the time. I have no idea why I  am so good at the 64 version and not the Game Cube, that fact also kills me.
