Game Blog / Happy Birthday, Shigeru Miyamoto!
« on: November 16, 2006, 06:48:41 PM »
According to sources which may or may not be correct, today is Shigeru Miyamoto's 55th birthday.

Happy birthday, Shigeru!

(I'm starting to think we should have put together a TMK Birthday Package and shipped it to Japan.  Remind me to scan in my Miyamoto autograph at some point, folks.)

Game Blog / The Wii Cometh...
« on: November 13, 2006, 08:15:16 PM »
The Wii arrives this coming weekend.

I have a Wii reserved at a local Gamestop, but they tell me they are only going to get enough copies of Twilight Princess in for preorders... the problem being that I refused to preorder Zelda.  As a result, I'm probably going to head to Wal-Mart at 10 pm and pick up both a Wii and Zelda there, where there will not be "only enough copies to satisfy preorders."

Does anyone else find it ridiculous that stores won't have at least enough copies of a launch title to be able to sell one for every system they have?  Or that I'm going to have to go to Wal-Mart to buy both my Wii and Zelda, as picking up my preorder would result in not having a game to play?

Game Blog / Radio Work Continues...
« on: November 12, 2006, 03:17:37 AM »
It's nice to know that WTMK ver 4.0 (or is it 4.1?) is going fairly well, thanks to the capable hands of MB.  Now to get some additional music added, find more commercials, and generally go further insane.  I do hope I can figure out why Winamp doesn't want to display album titles.

I'm still surprised at the lack of a Mario game for the Wii launch.

Hey there, folks. WTMK work continues -- the goal is to have the complete soundtrack for every Mario (and related) title ready to play on the "radio".  There's a small problem, though ... several games never had soundtracks made for them.

I have a few soundtracks ready to go for WTMK, but I have a few problems.  I don't have the time or ability to get all the tunes properly identified, or cut to the proper times.  Can anyone help me out with this?

Currently needed:

* Bird & Beans (DSiWare)

* Jam with the Band / Daigasso! Band Brothers DX
(the Mario medley tracks included on the cart -- not NECESSARILY downloadable stuff, unless it's official)

* DK King of Swing
(some tracks need to be identified)

* Dr. Mario Express (DSiWare)

* Dr. Mario Online RX -- ending credits music needed

* DSi Metronome (any music?)

* DSiWare Game & Watch Games -- if there is menu music for any DK/Mario ones

* Mario Artist (all music, all games)

* Mario Clash

* Mario Kart Arcade GP / GP 2

* Mario Sports Mix

* Mario vs. DK: Minis March Again! (DSiWare)

* Mario's Early Years (all versions)

* Nintendogs + Cats
(Mario tracks)

* Vs. Dr. Mario (arcade)

* WarioWare D.I.Y.
* WarioWare D.I.Y. Showcase

First priority: DK: King of Swing, Mario Tennis (GBC)
 I need folks who've played through these games completely and can identify the tunes in the game, naming them according to the levels they first appeared in.  If you know how to use an audio program to trim tracks, that helps.

Second Priority:   I need someone to unlock ALL the tunes in these games, then use the sound test to record an entire soundtrack.

Donkey Kong Country (GBC version)
Game & Watch Gallery 2 & 3
Mario Clash
Mario is Missing (NES)
Mario's Tennis (VB)
Mario's Time Machine (NES)
Super Mario Strikers
Warioland (Virtual Boy version)
Wario's Woods (NES)
Yoshi (GB)

Video Game Chat / Re: 'Nother game music post....
« on: November 06, 2000, 11:56:10 PM »
Well, the problem is that most of those soundtracks just didn't get released in the USA. Japan, yes... but importation is really difficult. I've tried.

Beware the soundtracks on eBay -- most are by "Ever Anime", a known pirate music company. Bah.

Forum Games / One Word Stories
« on: September 16, 2003, 01:07:24 PM »
Ok. Here are the rules. Each person adds one word to the story, and ONLY one word. We continue until someone (staff) ends it, or we all give up.

When you are adding your word, copy ALL the previous entry and enter that into your own. Watch my example to follow.

Site Discussion / Interviews - Voice of Mario, etc.
« on: June 17, 2003, 11:44:09 AM »
David here...

There is a SLIGHT possibility we'll be doing some interviews in the near future with various people in the world of something or another. Anyway, questions for you readers...

Who would be good to interview, and what should we ask them?

Possibilities so far include Charles Martinet (voice of Mario)...er... um.. and Toad Girl (if you don't know, don't worry).

Yeah, so I'm not the most impressive interview guy. If you have a better idea and some industry connections, lemme know.

Site Discussion / TMK Reader Poll -- Age?
« on: June 16, 2003, 05:13:01 AM »
Greetings, time for another informal TMK reader poll. Just wondering what the typical age around here is. Feel free to respond with your name, age, and sex -- for all 3 women here.

Actually, the number of women is increasing, it seems. Now if we just had some around my age...

This is a command. Go to http://www.gamefaqs.com now and vote for Mario.

That is all.

P.S. If Mario wins, I will be sure to get some Mario Sunshine audio on WTMK.

Site Discussion / TMK at E3 -- Yes or No?
« on: January 11, 2002, 09:39:47 PM »
Hey all... David here...

Should TMK go to the E3 convention and cover it? If so, any suggestions for how we pay for the expenses? If we put up a Paypal link so you could donate to cover the costs of the coverage, would you?

Thank you.

Let's do the Mario, all together now!

Site Discussion / WTMK -- Questions for the Listeners
« on: July 22, 2001, 08:48:03 PM »
Okay, I updated WTMK a bit... added that DK Cereal commercial and a few SMB Advance tunes. I've got more I'm working on...

Anyone interested in helping out with a promo? I need you to be able to get a group of people together to shout the word "Luigi"...

Like so...

"Looo - igi!"

That is, long "Loo" then a quick "igi"...

1 full second "Loo", then "igi"...

Er...or, failing that, just a big crowd to do a quick shout of LUIGI.

Anyone interested?

... also, if anyone has access to video tapes of TV shows from the mid 80's to the 90's, if you can find NIntendo commercials... I want them.
