Hey, everyone! Welcome to the first TMK Mario Sprite Sheet Challenge! I'll be your host, Ultima Shadow! Unfortunately, the contest is over... here are the results!

FINAL ENTRIES

DK and Rambi Rider by Super Sonic Yoshi

DBZ Mario Brothers, SMW style by SSJ3 Mario Brothers

Fighting Sprites, SMW Style by Metal Slug Mario (Attachment Number 1)

3rd place goes to the Dragonball Z-esque Mario Brothers sheet by SSJ3 Mario Brothers! Containing a large amount of poses, it was a great idea, but, unfortunately, didn't receive many votes.

2nd place goes to the Fighting Mario sheet by Metal_Slug_Mario! It may not have had as many poses as SSJ3MB's sheet, but it was extremely versatile and could easily be used for a fighting fangame! Great job!

And, finally... the first place ribbon goes to...

Supersonic_Yoshi and his DK Rambi Rider sheet!

This sheet had the least amount of poses, but was excellently designed, clear, and completely custom made! Showing true spriting prowess, it is a fine example of the computer artistry that TMK's members can produce.

Thanks everyone for entering the competition! Well, that's all, folks! See ya!

If my son could decimate Lego cities with his genitals, I'd be [darn] proud.

Aw, I have the M&L style down good, but this is a good idea. I already have a sheet, can I enter it?
I'm a horrible person.

Enter any time you want. You can only enter one sheet, but if you revise it or build a better sheet, you can replace that entry.

Wait, can we enter previously made sprites?  Or how long do I have to sprite a new one?

EDIT: here's an old sheet of mine if I can.  I entered it in a sprite compo on another forum.  It got an impressive vote tally of...0!

I never understood why the sprite authors always say "give credit."

What is the credit!?!

BTW, great DK sprites.

If you make a fan game with them or comic ect., you can't claim them as your own, or your stealing them, this also counts if you don't give any credit.

I know that, but what is credit?

Put their names in the credits.

Okay, I've upated the first post to include any sheets you post. Keep in mind, however, that a sheet, for example, with a custom Wario with the WL4 car will be classified as Custom.

Doesn't seem to be many spriters 'round here...

Okay, everyone, don't be afraid to enter any sheets you've done, even if they're bad. I mean, if you get a good place, you might have more confidence in your spriting and produce better work!

But, that's if you're a bad spriter. :)

I mean, if you get a good place, you might have more confidence in your spriting and produce better work!

Then again, if you get dead last, it'll probably tear your spirit in half and you'll never have the guts to pick up a (virtual) pen again. Sorry, facts of life. :P

Go ahead and put my avatar on the "Edited" sprites list. I already know I have no talent, so it's no biggie.

Wait a second... What are the prizes???

« Reply #14 on: December 23, 2005, 10:37:18 PM »
Cash, unfortunately I need a whole sheet, instead of just one pose.

Everyone, thanks for entering, and the prize is the prestigious title of the best spriter. Or, I might try to find a better prize, but I can't promise anything.
