Yep, that is most certainly Luigi.

The question is, what role does he play? Will he be a playable character? Or is he to be an extra?

Interesting, he is in a dark place cowering waiting for Mario to save him. Reminds me of Super Paper Mario.

He'll probably go evil again... (Only if you've beaten Super Paper Mario!)

That would be cool. RETURN OF MR. L! Make him the final boss too. Ultimate coolness.

I really like the title of this thread. We need more threads with titles this sensational!

Also, why do I get the strangest feeling that this is all a trap for Mario? I mean, you'd think he'd have to fight a boss or something.

How do we know he doesn't fight a boss to reach the place where Lyigi is?

Mabey he fights a bunch of bosses, maybe this place is a place to rest/hide, and Luigi just happens to be imprisioned here.
Kinopio is the ultimate video game character! Who else can drive a kart, host parties, play tennis, give good advice and items, and is almost always happy??

Maybe you use Boo Mario to phase through the bars and scare him or something. I really want to play as Luigi. It's high time we can play as the true Luigi in a 3D Mario game.

Never played it, and even then he is only an extra. He plays about as big a role as he does as a character in Super Paper Mario.

Are you kidding? Luigi is easily the best character in SM64DS! Once you get him, you'll wonder how you ever got by without him.

Too true!  I once used Luigi on that game to dance to my cousin's iPod! XD  He was quite a good dancer (although if you've seen him in DDR:MM, you'd already know that. ^_^)

(Quoted From Nintendo Power)

It's surprising how Mario's scaredy-cat little brother, Luigi, keeps finding himself in the spookiest places. Ghostly Galaxy is packed with giant Boos, trap doors, and one green-suspendered knee-trembling sibling. But saving his bacon is worth the effort- once you get Luigi safely back to the Comet Observatory, he'll help you out in your quest to find more-tricky stars.

Super Mario Galaxy will kick Super Mario Bros. down to a 0 off the scale. but is he a partner or a swappable character?
