Author Topic: 1. We're not foreign. 2. Why do we have to wait so long?  (Read 8568 times)

I'm talking about the normal English release date for Super Mario Sunshine. The 4th of October? That's ridiculous. Why do the Americans get it so long before us? And for the record, the English release date isn't a "foreign" release date.

Can any big companies such as the magazine companies, TMK, Gamespot etc. stick up for us and get games released simultaneously, as they should be?

Cheers,

You may not be foreign to yourself, but you are to Nintendo.

And BESIDES THAT, you idiots, Europe has a different type of TV than North America and Japan. They need to convert all the games.

They shouldn't need to convert all the games. Signal from the console to the television should be dealt with by the console, not by the game. It would save a lot of hassle and delays.

This doesn't explain why we have to wait for GBA games, either. They are virtually identical from continent to continent.

But England was here first, and America is one of England's colonies. So theoretically England should be first on the list.

America's not a colony of England. It was originally. Then we had the war that we won and got our independence.

Just because America became a country after England doesn't mean that Europe still doesn't have different TV's.

You know what? I think ALL of the versions of SMS should be released sometime in July. It DOES take place in the summer, so why is it being released in the fall?! That's just not right!

It's my birthday today, and I can't get SMS because Nintendo is too slow at releasing games in America and Europe! Well... that and the fact that I don't have a GameCube.

If the USA and Europe have different release dates because of different TV screens, then why aren't there different versions of games in America for normal and Flat-Screen TVs?!

GBA games have different release dates in different countrys even though there is not one **** difference in the GBAs! What the hell's up with that?!

I heard that this new Galidor LEGO toy called the "Kek Powerizer" is going to interact with the new Galidor GBA game coming out this FALL. Fall, fall, FALL! How come no video games are ever released in the summer except in Japan?! It's so **** stupid!

Mario, Mario, Mario! What happened to Mr. Andretti?

NOE was established later.
Europe is simply last on NOJ's priorities.
Nintendo fans in different countries:
Japan: most
America: less
Europe: less than America
Less profit, less priority, I guess.

Well, apparently England is the 3rd largest consumer of video games and consoles, with Japan and America being first and second respectively. Hence there is no reason why we should be bundled with Europe, and made to wait with them for their silly translations and all the rest of it. We should SPLIT from Europe in terms of video game releases, and join with America.

And the CONSOLE, or the wire from the console to the TV, should handle the different type of signal.

Face it, we're foreign to each other. Like it or not. We dont speak the same language, no offense, there's some words in your vocab that we dont use. ANd vice versa. So stop complaining and be glad that you at least get the game at all. There could be no nintendo at all.

I regard the French and Germans as foreigners, not the Americans. I know Americans who'd say the same thing about English people - Americans are just a different type of English people really. Seriously, though, why can't the companies go for simultaneous release, like they did with Sonic 2? And they wonder why normal English fans get ****ed off with games companies. The delays for games such as Banjo-Tooie, and for the Gamecube, of about half a year, are unacceptable. It doesn't take that long.

Dude, why are you just randomly bashing other countries, like France and Germany?  Not cool.  And "foreign" isn't a bad thing, as yes, we ARE foreign to each other.  England and America are very different.  Australia is different from us both, and they also speak English.  Canada's different from . . . well, you guys.  Heh.  Even from us the further up you get.  And hey, India was also a colony of England.  Are they not foreigners?

Oh, and although America was originally a colony of England, that doesn't mean everyone here is of English or even European descent.  A racist teacher of mine made the same mistake and got me VERY angry.  Americans can be foreign to EACH OTHER, really . . .

Don't you mean Teresa? I suppose it COULD be Telesa, what with both letters having the same sound in Japanese, but I always thought it was Teresa.

It's listed on this site's Japanese enemy names list both ways (Telesa and Teresa), in two different games, so maybe it's been both.  No idea.  I say Teresa, not that I ever have much occasion to say it . . .

I used to call it pop but now I call it soda and I'm not sure why . . . everyone else in my family and around here in MI says pop.  I guess I spend too much time online.  In some areas of the south they call all soda "Coke," even if it's like Mountain Dew.  "You wanna Coke?"  "Sure."  "What kind?"  "Sprite is ok."

YEh, and the people in Florida said it was a northern (U.S.) thing to call it pop. Hahahahaha
My Mom used to call it Coke no matter what kind o' pop it was too. (And that was in like Colorado and Oregon...) Funny. Sprite is a Coke product, which makes it seem weird that you selected that exact thing, WanWan... And now that I think about it, I have friends that call it both soda and pop. Heck, back in the '50s, everybody called it soda pop!
Anyway...... an Atomic Teresa (it would be R because technically there is no L sound in Japanese) is a Big Boo.

It's a pineapple and grapefruit crush. I dunno, it's just one I thought of. You're not going to tell me they don't sell it in America, are you? I thought it was made by one of the big companies like Coke or Pepsi. The slogan is "Totally Tropical Taste".

I've just remembered something else on-topic. Our modern-day televisions accept signals in both PAL and NTSC, so the standard matters less these days, unless your TV is ten years old or something.
