A lot. But it's not narcissism. I am aware of the potential of the individual and am performing at a level I'm comfortable with. I think I'm cool because I be the kind of person I think is cool.
I do not think this makes me any better than anyone, until someone proves to me that they are consciously ****ing away all that potential. I don't mean people who don't care about their grades in school or people who suck at their jobs or people who mistreat their bodies. Nobody's perfect. I mean people who don't care about other people's perspectives, about justice, or anything. People who are proud of being *******s, or proud of being unhealthy, proud of being ignorant. So I rank higher than rednecks. Saying that isn't self-absorption, it's reasonable confidence.
My point is, you can like yourself and still be humble. And you should like yourself; if you don't, you won't take enough care of yourself to be likable.
-I'm good at a lot of things
-I shower and change my clothes every day
-I'm patient and cool-headed
-I can make friends with almost anybody
-I'm not Tim Buckley.
