Hello all you mario fans out there, I'm working on a Super Mario fan game.  It's called Super Mario Super Star and I'm going to make it the best fan game ever.  The story is that Bowser has captured Luigi, Toad, Yoshi, ???, and Peach.  There are five castles.  The sky tower, Dessert pyramid, Ocean dungeon, Ice palace, and Bowser's castle.  The five captives are in each of the castles, with peach in Bowser's hands.  Also there are 4 relics in each of the 4 other castles that destroy a force feild surrounding Bowser's castle.  If you have any ideas, or an idea of who the mystery captive should be please post.  You will be given credit.  You can download the game when it's done at www.freewebs.com/dinoproducts

It's a platformer game.  I'll have a demo soon.

Yeah, me too!  Except that I never actually play any.  Some day I will.

Hmmmm... who would make a good fifth character to be captured?  Besides the first four dudes there's also Wario, Waluigi, Daisy, Donkey Kong, Birdo... I'm not sure.  Oh wait, here's an idea!  How about if the fourth castle actually has no person captured but it's just a trap.  Somehow Mario gets tricked into going there thinking someone else needs to be saved but when he goes inside... the horrible Baby Bowser appears!  He challenges him to a fight and uses his paintbrush to create muddy creatures.  Then Mario kicks him in the face, makes him cry, and leaves the castle.  Yeah, it's brilliant!  Wait, forget that last part.  But a fake castle would be interesting.

That's a good Idea about the 4th palace, your name will definitly be in the credits.

And if anyone can think of a better name than Super Mario Super Star, I would really appreciate it (and give you credit)

That would be even better! If you want to invest the time in it, of course.

Yeah, simultaneous 2 player would be really good even.  Just one problem... if everyone is captured who on earth will be your partner?  That's another question that I don't have time to think of right now.

How about putting Wart to the game?
Or Sky or Marine pop?
Veggies to throw?
Hammer brothers?
Reznors?
Chain chomps?

Sky/Marine Pop sounds like a good idea. I loved those levels in SML. And I could think of plenty of better names...if I wasn't tired. I'll just say "Super Mario Brothers 4: This time, different people get captured!"

Before you all correct me I just want to say that I finally realised that you can have a 2-player mode simply by switching Mario and Luigi around.  No need to tell me now.

Wait, there's another idea!  You could increase the replay value of the game by switching the characters after you beat it with one!  Just like in SMB2!  Maybe you could make the levels a little harder though just to spice it up.

Question: Is this game going to be like SMB, SMB3, or something else?  I would think it's SMB but I'm not sure (more dumb quesstions from yous truly! :))

Comments: I just got a buttload of good new ideas! (that's a word one of my weird girl/friends uses)  First, one of the castles could have all seven of the Koopa Kids as a boss for 1 castle.  Halfway through the castle you will enter a room and have to fight one of the KKs and then another right after that.  In the last room you will fight 2 KKs at the same time and then 3 right after that! (talk about koopa kraziness!)  Here's more ideas for bosses: Magikoopa.  He's in a room full of blocks and he flies around and transforms the blocks into tons of enemies and some very big.  In order to beat him you have to grab the turtles, knock them out, and then fling the shells at them (at least for part of the fight).  And then you could also have Wart and Smithy but I'm not so sure about them.

Levels: You could make a secret warp pipe hidden in a castle or somewhere that takes you to a sixth extra world which is just like the first world but much harder.  The levels are difficult and look weird and the boss at the end is new (wonder who?).  I'll let ya know if I dream up any more garbage.

Sounds like any other Mario platform game.. Friends who get captured, Peach in the Bowsers castle, boobytraps, warps and Mario who comes to save them.. It's too cliché, I wouldn't play it anyway.

Dr. E. Gadd? First guy who came to mind... probably not the best though. Ah well, keep working on it. How are you formatting it though, like .exe? If so then crap, because I'm on a Mac (although upgraded to iMac G5 a while ago...) Maybe make an SNES ROM of it? Sounds quite good though. One suggestion, make it difficult. Please. And thank you. Sounds awesome. *needs to stop rambling*

I don't think you can convert executables to SNES ROMs very easily, if at all.

No, I wouldn't expect him to convert it from .exe to a ROM, I was just saying that a rom format would be sorta cool because it'd be like an actual Mario game. Plus then anyone could play it because there's such an abundance of emulators out there... oh well, I'll just have to play it on a friend's computer then. Or get one of those VirtualPC thingies. Whatever. Carry on with the game-making.

Well, Space Yoshi X, I'm making a game as well! It's called Super Mario RPG: Shadow Star Quest. If you want to hear more about, by all means-- I'll tell you. Also, any suggestions would be welcomed.

Story: Mario has just returned from a well-deserved holiday, and is about to greet Luigi when he finds a note, which informs him that Sasa, legendary dragon guardian of Sarasaland, has been kidnapped by what looked like a Yoshi. Luigi also informed him that he and Peach were going to Sarasaland to help him find the dragon. Mario couldn't believe it. "I can't believe they didn't tell me earlier!" he thought. But then, he decided that he should go to Yoshi's Island to track this mysterious Yoshi down. However, he first decides to stop off at Peach's Castle to get more supplies. He was just packing when a Toad came in. "Mario!! Apparently something has happened to the Princess! You have to get to her castle immediately!" Mario followed the over-excited Toad out the door, and on the way to adventure.
If my son could decimate Lego cities with his genitals, I'd be [darn] proud.

That's a very good question! I guess I had two accounts for some reason. This account I'm using right now is associated with my personal email, which I believe I would have had in 2004 so I assumed this was the one. The original might be associated with my parents' email address which would have been deactivated at least a decade ago. I couldn't say for sure.

(I didn't even notice that this wasn't the same account as the original post until you pointed it out to me lol)

This is beautiful, thanks for sharing. I just checked the website you linked, seems that provider's changed hands a few times. I made a website on there long ago, but it's probably lost to time by now.
