I know it's old and unnecessary nowadays, but I like having a button for run, and with the older kind of flight mechanic (maybe) returning, this seems as good a chance as any for button run to come back too.

Not that surprised. I haven't felt like the Wii was going to buck the 5-year console cycle. I am pleasently surprised at a playable version so soon. Also, I wonder how much backwards compatability this one'll have.

Slartibartfast: [talking about the Earth] Best laid plans of mice.
Arthur: And men.
Slartibartfast: What?
Arthur: Best laid plans of mice and men.
Slartibartfast: Oh. No, I don't think men had much to do with it.

I alway considered the graphics to be one of the main things SEGA has pushed for Sonic. It kind of goes hand in hand with the old Blast Processing stuff, how it all looked so good going that fast. Then you slow down and it looks even better. Though I guess they haven't used the brand for new stuff(graphics wise) lately, so that kind of falla apart.

I will hold off judgement until I can play it, but I will say that how interested I am to play it will depend on how much the levels are remade from earlier levels and how much of it is just thematically inspired by them. It's going to be a tricky tightrope to walk, too. Go too far into remake, people will complain about nothing new, but the old games have some of the best level design the medium has seen, and I don't know if the people that have been doing Sonic lately have the same ability to create.

But if you get your teaching certification in either NY or CA, you can pretty much get a job in any state.

Probably Sonic the Hedgehog 2.  Maybe SMB3, but it would have been at my aunts, and she had the Genesis before she got my sister and I an NES.  So, '93-ish?

You are not a leader of men but an organizer of men. You need order and organization to feel secure about your life. You will usually have extensive knowledge of your family history and tradition. You have little use for things that are not useful. Hard work, thrift and dedication are the way to your heart. You will always deal with others in a steadfast and straightforward manner, and will consequently expect others to behave the same way. The strange, the illicit, the unusual, have no place in your mindset. Proper planning and organization is a distinct pleasure to you. Because of your sense of responsibility, you will often accept leadership roles that can be onerous and difficult. Your thinking is sequential. Relationships for you often revolve around a sense of mutual responsibility. Good parenting is of prime importance, as is the duties that one lover has to another. You are intensely loyal, but on occasion can be so obsessed with the duties of a relationship that you can forget to address the private moments that give a relationship meaning. Oddly, you can be extremely sentimental.

No, Zelda. They aren't bad, but they aren't exactly The Great Gatsby. You discover you're a hero, you get a horse/boat/train, start collectin the plot coupons, and you rescue a princess.

I'm more than willing to be pleasantly surprised if this new one makes me reevaluate my world view, but really, I'm just expecting a well made game that somehow works fishing into the the whole floating island thing. Because they also love fishing

Yeah, really. Nothing is gained from pre done scenes. The more I see of how the game handles the better. And really, I usually don't care about the story for Zelda.

I find it kinda disturbing how long this thread has stayed alive.
