Does it matter in the end? That said, I'd go with the former explanation.

Imagine a new Star Wars movie taking place entirely within Coruscant. I would definitely settle watching that.

I visit another message board concerning NPR's Sunday puzzle, and it sees weekly posts and replies based on solving the puzzle. I think the forums lack the same incentive to revisit as regularly. There was always the appeal of socializing with the forum regulars, but I think many regulars have simply aged out of perusing forums (being an adult takes up so much of my time!) And without a steady influx of newer members, it makes sense that posts nowadays are few and far between.

Guess I'll have to search for people on Facebook. :p

It's-a me, Markio! (I honestly don't think I've ever used that line). Just dropping in to say hello and see how things are going. :)

I joined in 2003 when I turned 13 and spent basically all of high school here. I left here around college age in order to focus more on school and real life issues (like seeking employment, pursuing higher education, dating, etc). This forum provided me both a real sense of community, as well as a stepping stone toward independence as a teenager. It's simultaneously comforting and unsettling to see that this place still exists, which all my teenage ramblings still viewable for the judgment of others. XD

A lot of the current news focuses on how politically divided the US is, and it got me missing the heterogeneity of this forum, with members as far away as Montana and North Carolina! XD I'm also planning a Mario halloween costume, and so I felt compelled to revisit to check on things.

Currently I am still in California, am engaged to a guy I've been with for 7 years, and am currently studying to get my license in clinical psychology. My fiancee did not play video games growing up, and trying to get him to play Mario Kart 64 was like teaching a toddler to hold a spoon ("Hold the A button to move!" "What's an A button???"). So I guess I just miss you all and stuff. Hope you're all doing OK!
They apparently even kept the typo in Yoshi's English dialogue in the Super Mario 64 re-release for Super Mario 3D All-Stars.
Game Blog / Summer of Mario: MARIO & LUIGI: PAPER JAM

It's Mario & Mario & Green Mario in ...

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam

The first (and only) crossover between the two Mario RPG series, Paper Jam featured Paper Mario teaming up with Mario & Luigi.  The excuse for this was that Luigi knocked over a magic book containing the paper Mario characters, resulting in Paper Bowser escaping and joining up with Bowser.  The two Koopa Kings then kidnap Peach (and Paper Peach), leaving it to Mario, Luigi, and Paper Mario to save the day.

Paper Jam was developed by AlphaDream, the same folks who developed the rest of the Mario & Luigi titles.  The idea to add Paper Mario the game came when the team was trying to figure out how to change the basic gameplay -- Mario & Luigi games have always focused on the use of two primary attack buttons in battles, representing the brothers.  They wanted to use a third button, and while brainstorming ideas for which character to add to the team, the Paper Mario idea was suggested.  Paper Jam made use of a three button battle interface, allowing control of all three Mario brothers.  Paper Mario had some paper-themed attacks and moves, team up with the others for Trio Attacks, and the ability to attack using copies of himself.  Giant papercraft versions of characters were used in some special battles.

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam was released on the 3DS in late 2015 in Japan and Europe, and early 2016 in North America.
