HDMI video is lag-free on my TV but the audio gets offset a bit. Since this is murder to my rhythm-loving lifestyle I use RCA cable audio with HDMI video on 360 and PS3. The Wii U doesn't let you split it up like this (yet???) so I begrudgingly use component video (which still supports HD so whatevs).
The long nightmare is over. Version 4.0.0 U finally lets you use HDMI video with a different sound cord.

I don't know why, but being able to view the Wii on the GamePad has revitalized my interest in Wii games.

then presumably I will do something with the Wii.

(I'm keeping my Wii around. All my save files are on it, and I don't feel like moving them. Plus, Brawl without Gamecube controllers just wouldn't be the same.)

For when you have a child?  Back in my day there were less than 800 Pokemon, we played sports by flapping our wrest around, and we didn't need any of those fancy chips you have in your body.
