Mario Chat / Re: Super Mario RPG: Shadow Star Quest
« on: April 20, 2005, 08:52:45 PM »
Toddathon: I don't think Luigison will judge you for that at all.  Most likely because he hasn't even posted in this topic to date.  Keep your negative comments to yourself unless you have some sort of reason for saying so or perhaps a way to improve the story.

Luigi Simpson: Now, regarding RM2K, I don't know how much you'll be able to do regarding sprites, etc. because it'll most likely take up a lot of time to make all of them and really create a Mario-esque game.  I can't really give too much input here since I'm not exactly a pro at making storylines, but good luck on your game!

Move forward.  If you can't figure out what to do, listen to the King's conversation with his minions after they take refuge in their fort.

There was no need to revive a topic about a question that has already been clarified in order to make a septuple post.

To simply say I find it inappropriate would be an understatement.

You are violating two of the FF's basic rules: spamming and flaming.  Keep your negative comments to yourself as long as you don't have any reason for making them.  Stop now or you will be banned.

Anyways, I've never really taken any interest in Tony Hawk games, but I'm not saying that I don't like them.  ...  Then again, I'm not saying I do, either.

EDIT: Luigison's right.  Spamming's not a rule, but it's generally appreciated if you don't do it anyways.

With that much katakana, I think it's safe to assume that those are fake.

EDIT: Plus, even if I'm not great with kanji, I can say that it's just messed up.  Almost pure gibberish.  Go Online Translators!

How sad.  That means he won't be able to play another joke on us for April Fool's Day like he did last year.  *weeps*

Mario Chat / Re: What difference between Yoshi Yoster and Yossy
« on: March 31, 2005, 08:31:00 PM »
But it's not pronounced YOH-see.  It's just the same over there as it is over here.  Yoshi is Yoshi, with a sort-of "hiccup/accent" on the "yo."  I think Yossy is a REALLY bad ro-maji 'spelling,' if you ask me, which no one did, so I'll stop now.

I always found these
funny, but that's just me. Oh, and the captions help make it funnier, so
if you can't read it, then, well, it might not be so great, but they're still
good quality snapshots.

True.  Although not stated in the rules, it would certainly be helpful if anyone posting a thread about a site (or a thread about anything, for that matter) would be the first contributer to the thread.  Don't just ask questions or post sites and see what people think before posting your answers, post your answers in the introduction post.  For example, I haven't visited the site yet.  Why?  For a few reasons:
1. There's no indication to what this site is about.  That's usually a problem.  Is it a large flash animation or quiz?  Is it going to take forever?  Will it be worth my time?
2. There's no commentary to the site.  It's actually pretty helpful when people know what the contributor thought of it.  What did YOU think of it?  Are you mocking it or did you enjoy it so much that you wanted to share it with the people here?
3. Looking at the link, I see a familiar name.  Hmmm... Is this one of those 'refer as many people as possible' things?  Am I going to have to do the same thing to get the full potential of this link?

It doesn't take that long to do this stuff.  And even if it does, 1) it's better than leaving a vague link, and 2) you're not competing against anyone.  The internet is big, and what are the chances that someone's going to post the EXACT same link before you?

Life's a journey, not a race, so stop running.

"Hardtack (also hard tack) is a simple type of cracker or biscuit, made from flour, water, and salt. Cheap and long-lasting, it was used during long sea voyages and military campaigns as a primary foodstuff usually dunked in water, brine, coffee or some other liquid or cooked into a skillet meal. This cracker was little more than flour and water which had been baked hard and would keep for months as long as it was kept dry. Also known as a sea biscuit, sea bread, or ships biscuits. The name derives from the British seamen's slang for food, "tack", and the fact it is so hard and dry" ("Hardtack").

But seriously, it isn't necessary to point out every reference that MIGHT be a Mario reference. <sarcasm>So I was walking along that strip mall down the road, and guess what I saw? Mario's Pizza! You should put that in the cameo section too.  Why?  It's Mario!  That's why!</sarcasm>
