Mario Chat / Where's Yoshi?
« on: April 20, 2003, 03:54:45 PM »
It seems like all of the big Mario stars have too big of an ego and ask for far too high of a price to star in a game, and Nintendo can only afford so many of them at a time. Mario, Luigi, and Wario each have to have their own games now. Yoshi too was this way for awhile but I guess he's hit hard times and had to sign up for a role in Super Mario Sunshine.

So, do you think they'll be a stand alone Yoshi game for the Gamecube anytime soon?

General Chat / School...*shudders*

Chocobo is still alive, of course. Not dead, as it may seem. Been enjoying Mario Sunshine, still haven't finished it...H..Hey! Don't look at me like that. I only need a few more stars to get to Carona Mountains...But anyway, I really like this board. I really should try and make more time to come here. I stumbled upon this board on the first day it opened and I said to msyelf, "Chocobo, we're gonna see this one to the end," And I'm really trying to live up to that statement.
Course, Honors History would like nothing more than for me to suffer.

Mario Chat / Well, next wednesday at school is character day...

And I'm going as Mario, of course. I'm almost the right build for Mario-I've even got a killer stache that nobody understands-'cept I'm too tall (Around 5'9 1/2, 5'10-A tad tall for Mario). I'd be Luigi, but my mushroom belly disagrees ('Course, I'd never admit that.) I've got some blue overalls and a nice red sweatshirt. If I'm lucky I might get ahold of some gloves, and I might have to get a bit creative for the hat, but It's gonna be fun.
Now, to work on my italian accent...!

Mario Chat / * Is working on secret Mario Project*
« on: December 15, 2001, 09:27:03 PM »
Oooo I wish that I could tell you! I really, honestly do! But I thought it would be sort of bad to announce it now, since it's in such early stages, but I'm having a blast working on it. I don't know how far I'll get into this project, but once I get a certain amount done I'll HTML a little website to show it off. So, to sum up the post, I did not make a formal annoucnement but merely an announcement on a forthcoming announcement.

General Chat / The advancement of Soceity
« on: October 15, 2001, 02:27:14 PM »
(Cross-posted from the MR Forums board. Yes, I am Tamahashi. I thought that this ramble essay of mind was quite englightining, and i've been looking for several ways to share it)
Lol...Bear with me here, this ramble is sort of cluttered and I'm only 14, so some of this may simply be farfetched or even impossible. I was thinking lately, how can we further improve our species? Obviously, things like space travel, destroying disease, and to gain knowledge lists up there, but I Thought of something else. What if we could come up with a better way of passing on information from generation to generation? If The parents had a child and passed down their information and observations and memories and such down to the child, that child would not need to go through so many years of school, and thus have more time in their lifetime to gain more knowledge to pass onto their children rather than relearning information the previous generation already knew.
Of course, this has some problems. First of all, this could eventually lead us into a negative utopia. In my mind, Society can either be balanced, Lean more towards the Player Piano future (Where Machines have replaced humans) and the 1984 future(In which The government has extreme power, and individualism is destroyed). Gaining information so quickly can easily point us towards the path of the Player Piano future.
So, to get away from that possible outcome, we have to think to ourselves, "what negative effects will this invention have on our society?" (Will this invention destroy the individual? Will this invention back fire and kill us all? Is it worth building? What effects will it have on future generations?) and other things, always causing us to check and reflect. Another problem with this, is memory. If we could actually get inherent memories and information, than we might eventually be able something to make it easier to retrieve our compressed information. Either that or have periodical "refresher courses".
Then, I thought to myself, How could we, today, begin our movement towards this goal? Some Super scientists could study the brainwaves patterns and try to make equivalent electric patterns to send into the neuron system. If this is accomplished, we could simply have a machine that plugs into your brain and have "Download times" where large amounts of information are implanted into our minds. Thus, compacting the education time needed, allowing us more time to learn the information we need to reach our goal of inherent memories.
But then, I realized, this very device which would allow us to learn so much so quickly, could easily be turned against us if a 1984 future were to emerge. This same device could simply overpower the brain's signals and somebody could control the individual every movement. Even worse, it would be difficult to un-install the device from it's owner, because (assuming the device works) the body might become reliant upon this, and suffer from a massive withdrawal which they  might not be able to survive.
That's really all I've got to say on the matter. I really find this intriguing. Is there any sort of job specializing in advancing society? lol, probably not...I look forward to hearing your responses.

Mario Chat / Potential Bowser Plans
« on: August 31, 2001, 05:47:54 PM »
The topic Stupid Final Bosses gave me an idea. We all know what stratigies have gone wrong for Bowser, and occasionaly the other villain..But what do you think could work?
My first Idea is the Alliance method. Throughout Mario's carear, he's made lots of enemies. The Sky Guys, Bowser, The Koopas + Goombas, Wart and co, Smithy and his factory of goons (Although Smithy is probably not a cannon character due to the fact he's partialy owned by Square), Tatagena (I know I spelled that wrong...The Final Boss in SML1 and Moon-boss in SML2) and the rest. What if they were all to band together? Assuming they'd be able to put up an alliance without ripping each other's throats, I believe this could be one of Bowser's best possible plans.
Next of all, in SMW we learned that some blocks were thrown into the world after pressing switches. These blocks gave us Mushroom, flowers, and Feathers (For the cape). If Bowser could only find the source of all question blocks, he could like limit all of Mario's powers to just Small Mario and the occasional wild mushroom (that may or may not be posioned).
The next idea....One of Koopa's kids, (I forget which one was the smart one) could build a robotic Mario and replace it with the real mario and try to overthrow the mushroom kingdome from within.
Final Idea: Nukes.

Mario Chat / Mario Sunshine, Comments and Theories.
« on: August 23, 2001, 05:10:36 PM »
First off, I would like to re-introduce myself. I have been gone for a loooong time, this summer my grandma had a hip replacement and my mom had her aortic valve replaced. I have been around the baord since day one, but I've been gone so long it seems there is plent of new faces. Hi to y'al!
Ever since Mario Sunshine was first announced (Although accidently...A slip up at nintendo.com)it has been teasing me. Tearing at my mind...But now that I know that it's indeed the sequal to Mario 64, i've become quite excited.
Then I learned that there's going to be something new in it that's supposed to be really nifty, although Miyamoto wouldn't fully comment on it. Some sort of jetpack looking thing with some type of ray gun. There was also the mysterious sunshine coins. It's slated for a relase of next summer. Appearntly it's very important to Miyamoto have it realesed in the summer, due to it's name.
Perhaps, the Jetpack like thing absorbes the energy of the sun to give mario powers (I don't know, like perhaps the jetpack thing when energized enough will allow you to jump higher, etc) and that the Sun coins power up the jetpack like thing.
That's all I've gotta say right now. Highschool is about to start, so you might not get to see the good ol' chocoboster that much. Don't get the time I'd like too..Otherwise I'd be on everyday of course. Ciao.

Mario Chat / Look! It's Doomba!
« on: February 09, 2001, 09:39:15 PM »
Yes! It's true, near the begining of Paper Mario, you end up fighting the Goomba king. He's got a funky mustache and red and white pants (Take that Chuck Quizmo!). Now, he never goes out and says it, but this humble Goomba King is Doomba! Well, maybe not, but that was the first thought that went through my head...I wanted to say that Chocobo isn't dead...And that Doomba had a cameo in a game.

Mario Chat / Is this the begining of the end?
« on: December 18, 2000, 10:55:20 AM »
Atari is dead. Do you hear of Atari anymore? Sure, some. But not much. According to what I've read, the last year or two of it, the market was flooded with medicore "me too!" games, and then it just sort of fizzled out. Could this be repeating..? Look at all the Game Boy games. They're so sidescrollers coming out, it's almost scary (not to mention only a few are magical). Is this the end? The amoutn of video games being purchased in Japan is dwindling...Is it time to hit the alarm button? Is it nearly the day where Kid Icarus comes down out of the sky and says, "Alas, Nintendo..." And rabid undead Pokemon fans roam teh streets...?

Mario Chat / I realized something...
« on: November 15, 2000, 08:33:49 PM »
Of all the levels in M64, the ones I play most are the Bowser stages. I've always thoguht they were the best because they didn't involve all of these star stuff. Am I the only one who thinks that it would be neat to see a 3D Mario game where they're just stages, not mini-worlds? Or am I missing something obvious here?

Mario Chat / Your most Magical Mario Moment (MMM)
« on: October 14, 2000, 07:27:31 PM »
Of all the Mario games, of everything that happend in them, of all the tiems you made it by that much, of all the times Princess wasn't in the castle, which one?
I personaly have two of them. The first one would have to be the origanal SMB. That was the first time I ever picked up a controller. Of course, I couldn't even get past the first level ( i was like 3) but boy, It lead me onto a series that never let me down and the magical world of Video Games. I still have a grudge agasint Flying Fish.
My second would have to be Bob-Omb Battlefield. That was truly amazing. It must have taking me an hour just to beat the first level. Oh, I tried just about ever move I could think of, I ran around like a mainac, I used the camera until it cracked, and then I earned my first star. That was such an amazing thing that still hasn't been topped in my opinion. Peace out, Foos!
