To be fair, the first two games are titled "Mario Story" and "Paper Mario RPG" in Japan. The rest all have pretty much identical titles to their western releases, all of which notably lack any references to stories or RPGs.

Digest this food for thought however you wish.

Of course he doesn't.

He's so out of touch I don't think he even knows what a "tumblr" or "hipster" is.

Hasn't it been four years since Mario U, though? I was under the impression Mario Maker would act as a sort of Mario outlet for Nintendo for the forseeable future, especially since it seems to be getting consistent significant updates.

That looks more like the red star from Mario Galaxy.

At the very least I can say this looks visually better than Sticker Star.

She really wasn't that powerful the one time we got to play as her. The best you could do was stun Space Pirates and hide.

I guess this is an example of how Smash can ruin people's perception?

That must be the 20th time I've seen that image since the Direct.

Why does everything have to be politics?

If Color Splash takes Sticker Star's battle system and actually improves it, I might buckle down and play it. Not even joking.

Super Paper Mario is a game I really need to replay.

Will I burned at the stake as a heretic for saying I like what I see of Federation Force?

Unfortunately, no. I put them up on Imgur to make them easier to view, but Deezer told me downloading the albums is a pain. Sorry about that.

I assume you mean "in", rather than "on".

I'm also not exactly sure what your problem is. If you want a story, play Paper Mario, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, or Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. They're all a-ok, as the rest have already mentioned.

Otherwise, are you sure you picked the right game series to be a fan of?

I've read some of this stuff before. He sounds like he never stopped being a ****y, insecure 12-year-old.

Cloud seems like he's really more there to represent Final Fantasy as a whole, which is very synonymous with Nintendo. Can't really blame a business for picking the face of the most famous game in that particular series.

I don't think it's that. I'm sure there's a reason behind their decision to have every outside team follow the exact same style guidelines, but nobody seems to know exactly what that reason is, and nobody's thought to ask about it during any interviews with the likes of Miyamoto, Tezuka, or someone else who is working or has worked on a Mario game.

I figured maybe the reason previous games all looked wildly different is because Nintendo didn't really have any style guidelines, and only recently did they decide to come up with some.

But that's just a hunch, and the real reason could easily be something wildly different.
