Mario Chat / Re: WarioWare characters in Mario games?
« on: March 26, 2008, 02:10:59 PM »
Mini games are just not doing it for me, and neither is Wario's biker outfit.  I'd like to see him set off on another treasure hunt in his classic attire.

Wario World 2: The Search for More Money.
Though I like the WarioWare series very much, I have to agree that it's very sad that the Wario platformers became rare since WarioWare. I wish for Wario Land 5. Master of Disguise is good, but not as good as the Wario Land series.

I'm pretty sure those goggles wouldn't fit anyway, so why not make them even more useless?

I don't remember enough from WarioWare cutscenes to know whether or not he ever uses them.
Indeed, as far as I know, he never uses his goggles in the games. The same goes for Mona and Spitz. By contrast,  9-Volt never removes his helmet including the goggles...

Oh, thank you very much! :-)

Hm, that text sounds... interesting...

Well, I'm pretty sure Wario's motorcycle from WarioWare is appearing in Mario Kart Wii, but, it doesn't really phase me. However, I will get mad if they replace his overalls.
The motorcycle doesn't phase me, too, since it isn't a character. ;-) By the way, I've added a poll to the topic.

Mario Chat / WarioWare characters in Mario games?
« on: March 24, 2008, 09:15:48 AM »
Last year, I played through the five games of the WarioWare series and I quickly became a fan of it. I also like the characters that were introduced with the series, especially Mona, 9-Volt and Ashley (and Red), but also the other ones. Sadly, these characters had practically not any role in other games so far (except for Brawl, of course).

I would like to see that at least some characters of the WarioWare crew appear in future Mario sports and party games as playable characters.  After all, Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong from the DK series also made it, and Diamond City already appeared as a track in Mario Kart Arcade GP.

What do you think? Should the WarioWare characters also appear in Mario games or don't they belong there?

Happy Easter to all! :-)

P.S. Yes, I know that the Wario games can be understood as part of the Mario series, too,  but I speak about games that include Mario's name in the title, like Mario Party, Mario Kart and so on.

Mario Chat / MEDAMAYAKI song from Wario Land 4 - Japanese, anyone?
« on: February 28, 2008, 10:29:00 AM »
Wario Land 4 contains a Japanese-language song called MEDAMAYAKI. I've only read that the title means "Fried Egg", but not what the lyrics mean. There are translations for the various lyrics form the WarioWare series around the web, but I couldn't find any translation of this one. Anyone here who understands Japanese and could translate it? I really would like to know it. So, here are the lyrics:

UKURERE MITAINA
TABIWO SHIYO
ARUITE IKO TSUKINO
KAKERAWO HIROINAGARA
CHIZUNO KAWARINI KYANBASU
NIJINO SHIZUKUDE
(SOMEMASHO)
HINODENI MANIAUYONI
BOYAKETA TOKEIWA OITEKO
UMINI TAMEIKI TOKASHI-TE
ISHINI KOEWO KIZAMO
TSUKIWO SUPUNI UKABETARA
HYOUGARANO KUMOGA WARAU

Site Discussion / Re: Release errors

I think Twisted! got a European box art some time last year. Very strange.
I think it already got the European box art in 2005 or 2006. Also, I read that the game has already been localised in 2005/06, also the ratings were made (as seen on the box art). The only barrier is the gyro sensor. I've often read that it contains mercury, and the mercury is the reason of the delays, it isn't allowed in "toys" in Europe. Wikipedia also tells something about the European release. Thus the release of Twisted! in Europe still isn't finally excluded. Hope dies last.

Sorry, I didn't read that. You can delete this topic if it is useless.

I don't see the Chomps as a very big problem. Of course, I don't want to say that the N64 Rainbow Road is the easiest track of the whole game. However, there are still much harder tracks. For example, Yoshi Valley, also from Special Cup, is much more challenging in my opinion.

I've noticed that some of the release information on your (wonderful) site is false, the European in particular. Here we go:

- Game & Watch Gallery 1, 2 and 3 have all been released in Europe.
- Wario Land II (GBC version), Wario Land 3 and Super Mario Bros. Deluxe were available in Europe as well.
- WarioWare: Twisted! hasn't been released in Europe so far. NoE's website still lists it as "TBD", but I doubt it will still come to Europe.

You should usually find the European release dates at NinDB.

Video Game Chat / Re: What was your first non-Mario game?
« on: February 21, 2008, 01:06:22 PM »
My very first own video game was Hugo for the good ol' Game Boy. Who is Hugo? A troll character, go here. Actually, that Game Boy version is almost identical with Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 2, just with other graphics.

I'm very surprised that so many people have voted for the N64 version. In my opinion, it is FAR too easy, because of the star borders around the whole road. In contrast, the SNES version is really challenging in comparison to the N64 one. For the very last track, I anticipate special visuals and music, but also a special challenge. And the N64 doesn't offer the last one, it's just very long. However, its shortcut is still very cool.

Game Help / Re: WarioWare: Touched! Mona Pizza video - how to get?
« on: October 16, 2007, 11:43:59 AM »
Twisted! was planned to be released in Europe several times, but Nintendo got problems with European laws, because the cartridge contains a bit of mercury that isn't allowed in toys (and maybe also in other things).

I really can't find this souvenir in the toy room, even with Twisted! inside, it seems really to be a region issue. Twisted! is still listed as "TBD" on the European Nintendo site, but I doubt that it will still happen. Anyways, thanks for your answers! :-)

At least, the video is available on YouTube, though in a bad quality. I wonder all the more about it because the uploader is from France. But the quality is so bad that I can't see if the words (not the lyrics) are in English or French. Do you see it?

Game Help / WarioWare: Touched! Mona Pizza video - how to get?
« on: October 04, 2007, 10:03:26 AM »
Hello, I read a few on the Internet that you would get a special Mona Pizza video while playing WarioWare: Touched! with WarioWare: Twisted! in the GBA slot. I tried it out, I inserted both the Touched! and Twisted! cartridge into  the DS and turned it on. I started the game, but nothing special happened. How can I get this secret toy? Or do I have to insert the GBA cartridge while already playing Touched!? Or does it matter that Touched! is an European version while Twisted! is an American version (hasn't been released in Europe)?

Could someone help me, please?

Mario Chat / Re: Would Wario Ware be truly tied to Mario's world?
« on: July 03, 2007, 12:55:08 PM »
I think that Diamond City is located on Earth while Mario's adventures take place on another planet with no official name. In WarioWare, the Earth is mentioned sometimes (e.g. by Orbulon) and Wario's house contains even a map of Earth in WarioWare: Touched!.

Wario did already find a warp to Bomberman's world (Wario Blast), so why shouldn't he find a warp to Earth, too? In the city Wario got a secondary residence, maybe it was sometimes boring in his castle because his only real friend at the castle seems to be (beneath himself) a hen (Wario Land II).

Also, Wario uses his purple car in Wario Land 4, and it is revealed that Dr. Crygor built it. That means that Wario already reached Diamond City some time before the events of WarioWare. Jimmy T. tells in the manual of the first WarioWare "...he (Wario) and I go way back", too.

I think that Wario changes between the worlds, especially to ensure that no one has stolen his treasures in his castle and to amuse with Mario and his friends. So far, that's my theory. And because of my bad English, German is my native language.
