Game Help / Re: The anchor in Super Mario Bros. 3

I deem the anchor useless, since I find it difficult to lose on the airships.
And even if you do lose, and the doomship moves somewhere else, you can just follow it.

No way. Are you being serious?
Yep. On my NES, I soldered in a straight-edge connector from a Game Genie. Works perfect every time, and you can even push the cartridge up and down while the game is running and it won't crash. :)

If you have a really good connector, It will work even without being pushed down.

By the way, I hate Fileplanet. I understand why they have a queue, but it still annoys me when I have to wait an hour to download some small file.
You've had to wait an hour? Wow, whenever I download something from them, I've never had to wait any longer than a minute or two. Makes me wonder why they even have a paid version of their service...

The reason they don't work is because the NES's cartridge connector was poorly designed, and wears out quickly. So the pins on the the cartridge don't make good contact with the connector. The lockout chip is what causes the blinking. If there isn't a good connection between it and the game, it will keep on blinking. So, to fix the problem:

1. Replace the cartridge connector.
2. Disable or remove the lockout chip.

Just replacing the connector should help a lot, but if you disable the lockout chip, it will run even more stable.

Game Help / Re: Super Mario Bros. 1 points

A lot of old games had points that didn't do anything. It was probably carried over from the arcade days, where getting a high score was the only goal of many games.

Waffles. Definitely waffles.

I really hope the enemies in this game don't have hit points. That was a really annoying thing about Sonic Heroes. (and 06, so I've heard)

These hi-def screenshots are making me seriously consider getting a 360.

Wow, that looks pretty cool. I'm not sure I like the idea of the camera being mainly at the side, though. I preferred the "hold up" type of gameplay.
But I mostly just hope that it isn't glitchy like the other recent games.

OMG TRIPLE-POST!
I was in Price Chopper yesterday when I saw a certain DVD... Sonic Underground! In case you don't know, that's the cartoon with the Dr. Robotnik that has been famous in a topic that is pointless.
Actually, that would be Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.

It sounds like there are separate audio cables for the different video inputs. I'm just guessing, but the HD input is probably using a coaxial or optical audio cable, while the other input is probably using the standard red/white rca cables. So, you just need to find the digital audio cable, and plug one end into the cable box's digital audio output, and the other end into your tv or stereo's digital audio input.
