Not at the Dinner Table / What Religion are you?
« on: January 28, 2007, 08:59:50 PM »
I've recently been going through some spiritual issues. I disowned my parents religion then begain to research into others that I could convert to. Today I consider myself a syncretist, my beliefs being a mixture of Hinduism, Buddhism, Baha'i and Shintoism. So I'm curious to know what religion you follow.

If the title of this topic is true, then why do I hear so many people online say that it will fail?  Are the games too kiddy?  Or are a lot of "mature" gamers out there the kind that think that only playing GTA and other titles of that nature make them mature?  Or that playing any game with a bright background makes them gay?  Then you have the fanboys.  This is self explanatory.  The guys that say "This system will suck because it's from this company."  I don't get it.  Wii Tennis looks like a total blast, it actually brings you into the game.  I have a friend who got one, and he says it's amazing.  I have another friend who's maybe getting one for Christmas.  Needless to say, I think I know where I'll be spending some time over break.  Anyway, I think I just gave myself a big reason to go and buy one...if I had the money.  So, enjoy the Wii.
I myself actually haven't heard any criticism at all for the Wii, since its launch. Though, I personally hate the idea of Wii sports though. It's basically like playing real sports except you aren't getting any exercise. So, if I wanna play sports I'll go outside. However, I still think the system has huge potential. Zelda TP looks like it will be bloody good fun, and FPS look like they'd be fun on this system. The kiddy accusations are kind of true since it was the only system to launch without a title rated "M".

YAAARGAH! I hate trying to get all the crests in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat just to fight Ghastly King! It takes for freaking ever, and I've been driven made trying to do it. *Screams and crashes through a wall*

I'm angsty because this stupid kid in my class calls buddhism missleading! Basically in class awhile a go we were talking about relegion for some reason and I mentioned that I was a buddhist. So, numbnuts (the kid) starts telling me how "missleading" it is, and that it's wrong.

it's gay to me.
I fail to see how Japenese animation is homosexual.

Banjo and Kazooie's eyes are way too small, it just makes them look so freaking ugly. Mini eyes aside, that trailer was awsome! I'd already planned to get a 360 along with a Wii, but this just seals the deal.

I was browsing DKvine this morning (yeah, yeah I knwo they're "anti-nintendoist and all, but they're a good source for information and whatnot), and  I was skimming through this thread (warning there's alot of foul language in it)-  http://www.dkvine.com/interactive/forums/index.php?showtopic=3521&pid=108067&st=200&#entry108067 and apparently the official site is gone, meaning we might not see this game ever again.

General Chat / The Croc Hunter is Dead!
« on: September 03, 2006, 11:47:52 PM »
http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/asiapcf/09/04/australia.irwin/index.html Wow, I couldn't believe this at first. Steve Irwin "The Crocodile Hunter" is actually dead. I guess it was bound to happen eventually, what with him working with all these dangerous animals, but in the back of my mind I always asumed that he would actually survive to retirment. Oh well, Rest in peace man, rest in peace.

Video Game Chat / Re: Most underrated games
« on: August 29, 2006, 11:05:30 AM »
Banjo Tooie has to be one of the most highly underrated games of all time. I'm sorrry, but I really don't get what people are talking about when they say Banjo Kazooie was better. Sure, it was one heck of an awsome game, but in my mind Tooie will always be far more superior. Super Mario Sunshine and Zelda Wind Waker might not have been better then their predecsors(spelling?), but they were still highly underrated.

Mario Chat / Re: Did Rareware Ltd. Ruin the DK series?
« on: June 01, 2006, 08:51:47 PM »
Donkey Kong had plenty of personality in the 1994 Game Boy game. In the Donkey Kong Country games he was mostly expressionless, except when doing the ridiculously bad 1990s style intro dance and the eye bulging.
Sorry dude, but you are just being ridiculous here! That so called bad 1990s style intro dance might have seemed corny, but it showed us that DK was one easy going, party animal of an ape. Heck, throughout the entire game DK shows us his "I'm the man attitude" by pounding his chest and making a cry of pride when you leave him alone for awhile and shaking his hands up and down and screeching after he defeats bosses. Rareware's  has given DK a personallity much greater then Nintendo has and even you can not deny that.

Mario Chat / Did Rareware Ltd. Ruin the DK series?
« on: May 26, 2006, 06:40:16 PM »
I know alot of people (such as myself) absoultley adore what Rare has done with Donkey Kong, while others much rather like how Nintendo has handled the Donkey Kong license. I'm curious as to know, how many people here think Rareware actually ruined the Donkey Kong series.

Video Game Chat / Selling preowned PS3 games will be illegal.
« on: May 24, 2006, 07:53:50 PM »
Quote
It seems that Sony is planning to adopt a licensing system that will mean gamers won't own the PS3 titles that they've paid money for. Instead, they will only be purchasing the licence to play the game and that the software itself will still be Sony property - meaning that the disc won't be the customer's to sell.

Wow, this http://www.gamesradar.com/gb/ps3/game/news/article.jsp?articleId=20060524153157765035&sectionId=1006 is bullspit! Now, I've been praising the PS3 for awhile and have said it will sell more then the Wii, but I save alot of cash by buying preowned games, and selling old games of mine which I no longer desire to own, and I sure as heck aint going to buy a PS3 knowning that I can no longer legally sell games for it which I no longer want!

So, what are your thoughts on this?

Mario Chat / Re: is mario offensive?

Wow, I guess my poor little excuse for people hating Mario (which I didn't even really agree with at all) has caused Rubber Ducky here to make yet another horrible topic. Hate to be a negative Nancy here, but am I the only one here who thinks Rubber Ducky should be banned from making topics for awhile?

"I knew we shouldn't have gone in!" Screamed Diddy , running from the cybrog at top speed! He had almost made it out of the building when he relised that for most of this adventure eh'd done nothing but acted cowardly.

"No, I'm not gonna run anymore!" Yelled Diddy as he used all his force to kartwheel away from the door and into the cyborg.

Cyborg's HP:68
Diddy's HP: 13
