The first mario game I've ever played was super mario advance, however, that was only a rental. And I didn't get far. The first mario game I've ever owned was sma2.Or maybe it was sms... I know for a fact sms was my first mario console game I owned. I beleive I heard of mario prior to the release of sma.

Yup, made on that faithful July 28th of '06. I had been lurking for quite a while at that point, since 2004 or maybe even 2003. I made a post introducing myself in the Hopeful topic a little later. Man, it feels like yesterday...

Game Blog / Re: Graffiti Ruins Mario Art

I think people should be a bit more pacifistic when it comes to Graffiti; it's like a splash of color and surreality in an otherwise reality-bound world. But if you don't want it all over your house, that's fine. I wouldn't object to Graffiti on my house as long as our landlord approved it and as long as it was creative. The only graffiti I don't like are excessive tags and swear words (kids see that stuff, you know!)

That picture is a great example why I don't like to see excessive tags. That was a great piece of Mario until some jerks went over it. For those who care, I used graffiti terminology there, but it would be interesting to have a piece of Mario. Y'know, to find out what Mario tastes like.

I think I remember hearing Luigi having a thing for Daisy back in her trophy description for SSBM, no?

Because Wario would have been a better choice for the baby roster than Daisy.  At least Wario appeared as a baby in one of the main stream games.

What a minute, wouldn't that mean Wario would be dancing with Luigi in that statue!?

The people who were afraid of that pikachu picture have never had a cat that gave birth to kittens.

And that Bowser is sweet, although the red scales on his head looks like Ganondorf's hair

Why does he have to drag this bizarre political comparison into it?

Actually, that was pretty funny. But you know what I didn't like? His overuse of exclamation marks! Not to illustrate anger, but just 'cus! It makes him sound totally phony when he used exclamation marks to praise the game! It was also annoying when he randomly used the ellipses! It sounded... weird! And... fake! Like a large... headcrab... jumped on him... and is making him... speak in... segmented... li... ne... s!

You know what's interesting about the whole thing? EGM gave Double Dash a really high score, but what did Double Dash Introduce? A useless gimmick that put two racers in one kart. Oh, and co-op play, but all that amounted to is on person drives and the other occasionally presses a button to shoot an item. Lazy jerk. Hardly my idea of innovation. It also removed the hop feature, which some reviewers criticized the game for. The most notable of MK:DD critics was IGN, who I can remember saying the game lost an enormous amount of depth because of this removal, even saying, "all you find is an overly kid friendly, candy coated kart racer that is very easy to tire of." and "Nintendo has stuck to a formulated sequel rather than creating something that feels fresh and exciting." One console later, and Nintendo has brought back the hop maneuver and added new content. IGN got more positive while EGM/1-up got more negative. The much more brutal item design seemed to irritate 1-up more then IGN. I  guess that proves it really is impossible to please everyone, eh? Especially for a series like Mario Kart, which will probably always have the same criticisms of luck-based gameplay leveled against it unless Nintendo got rid of the items all together. But really, what's Mario Kart without it's items?

Once I get the game, I'll judge for myself.

Video Game Chat / Re: Wii's graphic potential realized!

I looked at a video and some screenshots. I will admit, the games uses a lot of cool effects, but that doesn't change the fact that the buildings are just huge grey blocks with windows on them.

I do hope this game gets a publisher, though. There's too many awful games on the Wii coming from third parties; I'd like to play a game that isn't from Nintendo for once. I'd also like to see how far these guys can push the Wii

Is it just me, or does it seem that there is a bigger advertising campaign then any of the Wii's other hardcore titles combined?

Still, a funny set of commercials. Definately more creative then that "Wii would like to play" stuff.

That doesn't look like a bad place to live and I bet the rent is cheap. I'll call my real estate agent about this place. I don't mind a few gapping holes in the floor, I'd make a killn' selling all that broken glass to the recycling plant and I bet the ghosts would make good chums.

That means North America is the only market out of the four main markets without a reward system. Dat sux.

Well, the implamentation of a reward system is a nice way to distract Euro and Aussie gamers from the fact that they get their games roughly a decade after Japan and North America (with a few exceptions).

Your art skills are incredible! I especially like some of the photographs on your DA!

Oh, and I think there was and Fan art section, but Deezer traded all the art there with another website in exchange for coverage on the Mario Ice Capades.

Dump Peach?  Personally I think he'd be better off with Rosalina (not Daisy).
If Mario lived in outer space with Rosalina, then who'd be left on the Mushroom World to save Peach? Mind you, the observatory only passes the planet once a century, so Mario would be too old to save Peach by the time he returns.

Plus, Peach is a very good person to mooch off of. After all, she is a princess. If Mario lived with Rosalina, all he'd have to eat are those star bits (the taste of honey can get pretty old after a while).

2) Why wouldn't you want them to?! Those are the only two Mario sport titles worth playing, the others (like this) are made by teams of developers that can't capture the Mario flavor and good gameplay. I will never backdown the assertion that Nintendo should let Camelot handle all Mario Sport titles.

It's not that they were bad games, but I'm just tired of seeing Mario spinoff games every year while an original Mario Platformer graces us once per system. Plus, after 5 tennis games, I think the developers would be running out of ideas. That is, with the exception of the Mario Kart games.

So, Mario Kart Wii is Dual Layered, but not SMG?

Oh well, I'm getting my Wii repaired soon, anyway.
