Well, though I do admit I don't care for the dangerously rictus grin, it's tolerable compared to the toothless DK of CE7's last two examples.

Also, I "lost" on that albino ape as well, probably because (somehow) of Bigluigifan's post.

I like the toothless look. It's Muppety. Besides, the only characters who have toothy grins in Rare's style are Funky and S****y, not DK.

You lost me at cool and mysterious. DK is never any of those.

Try actually liking DK. Then we'll talk.

From the man who hates DK's best game.
That was a joke.

Game does not = Character/brand. I hate the game because it lacks any ties to said brand and portrays the character poorly.

(Most people don't care as long as it has awesome gameplay.)
What's your problem, Cambodian?

God knows I'll get attacked for saying this but Donkey Kong 64 is DK's best game.

God's right. I guess by process of elimination it could be considered to be in the top three or so DK games, but it's mostly just a Banjo-Kazooie-esque collectathon with all the things that go with it (irritating voice samples, frustrating boss battles, and one or two fairly off-putting elements that remind you Nintendo didn't really develop it). That's not to say I didn't enjoy it as a kid, though...

Banjo-Kazooie ****ing rocks though. That's why I like Donkey Kong 64 so much.

I mean...am I the only one who appreciates so-called collectathons?

Most people are stupid.

Then again, JB and the bongos weren't that much of a success, so there's a better example.

The success of a game doesn't rely on quality as so much as advertisement or special effects.  Look at games like Kingdom Hearts, they did so well because of advertisement, but the gameplay itself is a different story.

What I mean by success is how many copies the game sold.  I mean, look at great games like Earthbound, they didn't sell so well, but its still an awesome game, better than most games out today.  In not saying that great games=bad sales or bad games=great sales, I'm saying that game quality=/=success of the game.
