Theoretically, yes, but one could argue that at a certain degree of the bread's stay in the toaster, it becomes toast, and that from that point until when the toast exit from the toaster that the toaster is in fact toasting the toast. It all depends on one's interpretation of toast.

You don't put toast in a toaster, unless the toaster didn't fully toast the bread.  In this case, the toast would bee called 'broast' :D
