But then parents would be sending angry letters saying "you required little Johnny to kill Mario's longtime friend and helper just to progress further in the game". I'm surprised Yoshi hasn't died more in mods. Or maybe he has and I just haven't checked it out. There's a Mario mod for some version of Doom where part of it has you shooting several Yoshi enemies.

Yep. The good news is, it doesn't look like it's going to go anywhere anytime soon, so you have all the time you need to catch up. Even though when having the entire collection saved to hard drive it takes up 110MB.

Not as much as Donkey does. I've seen him talking to waffles by candlelight. It's starting to creep me out.

Furries were around longer than that. Sonic SatAM was in 1993. Tiny Toon Adventures was in 1990. The Redwall novels started in 1986. And if you count Ranger Rick, a nature magazine whose mascot was a raccoon and he went on adventures with other animal pals, it started back in 1967.

How many Easter Island statues does it take to make baby Thumper cry?

(if you call Bambi "furry" for some ridiculous reason, then we'd say as early as 1942. Flower was cute, what can I say. And yes I know he's a guy... ok, shutting up now)

That reminds me of the Control level in Goldeneye. You're trying to blast guards coming in left and right, and Natalya's just slowly slamming the keyboard with her fists and not making any effort to hurry up or defend herself. In general I hate levels in games where you can't do the work yourself or you have to escort someone who's dumber than a bag of hammers. Because then you feel like you're not in control of the situation, and the last thing I need is for Happy McRedShirt to pick up a bomb and think it's a Twinkie.

So now I know why you usually keep McRedShirt locked up in a room while you handle the situation yourself. But if you can't do anything and have to rely on an NPC... go hide in a dresser and wait for it to all blow over.

What's that comic Penguinwizard posted, and where can I read it?

Ozy and Millie. Here's the archive section, and here's the first comic. It lasted for over 10 years and racked up over 2,000 comics. The characters underwent a visual redesign in May 2000 and the artstyle slowly evolved from there on out. The comic has been compared to Calvin and Hobbes, for what that's worth.

Won't stop some people from trying though. Miyamoto says there's a timeline to the Zelda series, but I find the games more enjoyable if I don't think about that. Just say Ganon stole the Triforce again and I'll be happy.
