Is Huck Finn the Great American Novel?

In 500 words or less, briefly discuss the significance of Twain's Huckleberry Finn, its relevance to American literature, and whether it should be thought of as "the Great American Novel."  Be sure to consider the political, social, and cultural impact of the work, the novel as a literary creation, and the issues of race and language so often brought into the moral and political spheres.
