Not at the Dinner Table / Re: Religion
« on: April 29, 2001, 05:00:26 AM »
I'm an out and out atheist. Not "none", but atheist, a system of nonreligious beliefs.

And if you don't like it, tough buns ^_^

Yeah, I know someone who considers himself a Nazi, but he knows bugger all about it. What a moron.

Wheee! RoyKoopa, that's the best theory I've seen for it yet. Not only plausible, but also hilarious ^_^

I certainly agree that seeing the "Wario Bros." together in future games (perhaps even GBA Wario Land games) is an exciting prospect.

As a whole, I don't think he's all that bad a character either.

Mario Chat / Re: ^_^ Paper Mario!!
« on: April 24, 2001, 05:11:48 PM »
Yeah, I got the game last Friday (had to import a US N64 and everything) and I've been hooked on it since. It even drew my attention away from Pokémon Stadium 2 AND Conker's BFD. We're talking one awesome game here ^_^

And the style is original, but not that weird. When Mario flips over like a piece of paper now when he turns around I don't even notice... it's just like when he used to suddenly be facing right to left when you pressed left on the SNES pad or something.

The basic game itself is proving fairly short, as I'm already over halfway through (only two more to go), but it's lasted longer than most games I own that I've played solidly.

Frankly, I love it ^_^ And it's nice to see the Mario world expanded even more, but not so much that we can't recognise it. It's just as fun to explore new places as it is to explore places you've seen in other games (such as Peach's castle ^_^)

Let's hope future Mario titles keep this level of quality.

I prefer Mario most of all
Then Pokémon
Then Zelda
Then Kirby
Then Earthbound, StarFox and Metroid together

Video Game Chat / Re: Are there any Sonic fans here?
« on: April 17, 2001, 09:20:09 AM »
Can't say I am a fan, as I dislike the "kool" characterization of the mascot. I don't find the games particularly challenging or enthralling either... although they did get better later on.

I'm not a massive fan, no ^_^;;

Video Game Chat / Re: Conker's Bad Fur Day
« on: April 17, 2001, 09:17:15 AM »
Not since SM64 has a game captivated me as much as Conker's BFD. The humour is all well and good, but it's also one cleverly constructed game, as well as difficult (though not impossible). Nice to see Rare shedded that "collect-em-up" style for this game.

Basically, Conker's BFD is one of the few games on the N64 that has offered me something original and new, and also captivated me from start to... well... where I am now ^_^ (the spooky level)

General Chat / Re: Favourite NES Game
« on: April 13, 2001, 02:55:09 AM »
Funnily enough I only have four games for my NES and they're all Mario (SMB, SMB2, SMB3 and Dr.Mario).

But before we got this NES several years back we borrowed this other guys NES with a boxfull of games. I played Gremlins 2 and Fester's Quest most of all. I should probably say Zelda or something, but to be honest I've not played the originals very much.

Video Game Chat / Re: Sega - A traitor to their own company?
« on: April 11, 2001, 04:16:29 PM »
The idea is, Sega has stopped producing consoles, and are now 100% dedicated to making their own games.

The whole third/first party concept is throwing you off a little. One part of the Sega company makes consoles and another part of Sega makes games. It is only because they're working under the same company that Sega is considered a first party company, when in fact they're quite different sections.

I s'pose you could say that Sega is becoming a third party developer for their old console, as well as other consoles ^_^

Mario Chat / Re: Sorry for being biased...
« on: April 11, 2001, 04:11:25 PM »
As long as you understand the whole situation then having a bias is okay. I don't enjoy SEGA consoles as much as Nintendo consoles, and so don't go out buying them, although I won't go forcing that view down people's throats.

I will force my bias towards Pokémon at people, because they treat me like crap otherwise. They assume things that aren't true about Pokémon and players, and I want to drive that out of people. I won't make people buy Hey You, Pikachu! though...

Bias is fine as long as you know what you're talking about.

~_~ SMRPG was indeed made mostly by Square... you silly billies

I think with the right backing, developers and story writers, Mario is Missing or Mario's Time Machine could be interesting on the N64... Just so long as it's not educational...

*has a vivid imaginative blast of 3D Mario and co travelling through time with historical artifacts*

Oooh...
