Mario Chat / Super Mario Galaxy!
« on: September 10, 2006, 05:12:02 PM »
Super Mario Galaxy looks amazing. The gameplay looks just as innovative as Super Mario 64. The graphics look astounding, clearly above anything on the GameCube.

Anyone know when this game is coming out? I WANT MY WII!

I saw the videos at www.gametrailers.com and www.e3insider.com

Super Mario Galaxy is the true sequel to Super Mario 64! It will hopefully define what next-generation platformers are going to be!

Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Sonic Wild Fire... looks like the Wii has an excellent launch lineup! (Smash Bros. Brawl is coming in 2007, so it's not technically a launch title.)

Mario Chat / SUPER MARIO GALAXY!

Super Mario is in a brand new adventure that takes him high above the clouds, and all the way into space!

Super Mario Galaxy for the Nintendo Wii was revealed at the E3 2006 expo, and the game looks incredible! Mario can sail through space using the power of special star rocket things, and he can travel from planet to planet.

The game makes use of the innovative new Wii Remote controller. Players wave the Remote to move a cursor on the screen that manipulates the environment. For example, players can wave the cursor near a group of bushes to make Coins or 1-Up Mushrooms appear.

Players can also use the Remote to make Mario perform special moves. When Mario is near a Star Bubble, players can point to the bubble and press A to make Mario float in the air. Waving the Remote while Mario is standing still makes him do a spin attack.

I saw some videos of Super Mario Galaxy, and it looks amazing! It is a huge leap from Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine. The graphics are spectacular, the environments are amazing, and the gameplay looks astounding!

Kojima is a friend of the creator of the Smash Bros. series. That's how they got Snake in the game.

Solid Snake and the Metal Gear franchise are incredicbly popular, so the addition of Snake may lure some Metal Gear fans over!

I would love to have Sonic and Tails in Super Smash Bros. The dreams of many fanboys of having Mario and Sonic in the same game together would finally come true!

Also, Mega Man and Dr. Wiley would make good additions, since Mega Man started on Nintendo anyways!

Also, please please please please include King Dedede from the Kirby series. Metaknight made into the game, so why not Dedede?

Go to www.smashbros.com (the official site from Nintendo) and read a blog from the creator of the Smash Bros. games! It is very interesting!

EDIT: I just went to the website and found out that they put Pitt (Kid Icarus) in the game! I have always wanted to play Kid Icarus, and now with the Virtual Console on the Wii, I can!

New Super Mario Bros., BORING?! I haven't played the game yet, but how could you think NSMB is boring? This will be the ultimate Mario game (until Super Mario Galaxy is released.)

General Chat / Sony digs a deeper grave...
« on: May 09, 2006, 11:24:24 AM »
At their press conference at E3, Sonny finally announced the price of the PS3:

Sony has apparrantly likened Microsoft's dual-pricing strategy, so they decided to try their own version.

Ladies and gentlemen, the PS3 officially costs:
$499 with a 20 GB HDD
and $599 for 60 GB HDD!

Wow, $500-$600 for a PS3... And I originally thought the 360 was expensive...

But that's not all, Sony also showed their new controller, which features motion sensing technology comparable to Nintendo's Wii! The controller incorporates an "innovative" six-axis motion sensing technology (. Meaning you can tilt and turn the controller in any direction to control your games.

Thankfully, Sony got rid of the horrible "boomerang" design, and has instead retained the classic DualShock look and feel.

But what's this? The DualShock is gone? The PS3 controller has sacrificed vibration? What is the world coming to? ;)

With Sony's press conference over, I am severely dissapointed. Not only is the PS3 way too expensive for the mass market, but they also copied Microsoft AND Nintnedo with their "innovative" ideas.

Let the anti-PlayStation hate-mail begin.

Multiple gods... if that were true, then Greek and Roman religion would still exist, pagan rituals would not be so mysterious, and worshiping idols would be practiced more often. The simple fact that Jews, Christians, and Muslims all condemn the worship of multiple gods/idols means something...

Video Game Chat / Ugh... I am so sick of this.

All these rediculous rumors about the PS3... Yes it will be expensive, and many people will gladly shell out $400-$500 to get one, but people are seriously getting carried away with their "OMG! PS3 iz teh loozer!"

I'm, not going to pay $500 for a videogame system / Blu-ray disc player / super computer / multimedia device / George Foreman grill...etc.

Xbox 360 and Nintendo Revolution are looking more appealing every day.

I am still sick of these PS3 rumors though.

Video Game Chat / Good news and bad news...
« on: March 16, 2006, 07:17:58 PM »
First the good news:
Shiggy has finally confirmed what we knew all along. Zelda: Twilight Princess will have special Revolution functionality!

Now the bad news:
PlayStation 3 has been officially delayed. Sonny announced that they will release the PS3 worldwide in November. A worldwide launch? Didn't Microsoft try that with the 360, and fail miserably?

Not like I care about PS3 (and I don't), but this is sending industry analysts into an uproar. "$0ny is D00med!" I can hear the fanboys cry already...

Even though Sony has a huge online service planned, I still have doubts about the success of the PS3. The console will cost much more than a 360 (over $400), and it will probably have technical issues surrounding the Blu-ray player and CELL processor.

Microsoft and Nintnedo will conquer this generation.

Xbox 360 has a huge head-start, and it is still selling like crazy. I would be lucky to find one by this summer. Microsoft is going to announce some major games at E3. I hope one of them is a new Sonic the Hedgehog game!

Nintendo is preparing for their Revolution, and boy, it's going to be big. I can't wait for more news about their "industry-changing" console and it's unique controller! The games will be amazing. The Wi-Fi play will be amazing. The downloadable classic games will be amazing!

I love Mega Man games. I played Mega Man X on Super Nintendo to death. I may get a PSP just to play Mega Man X: Maverick Hunter and Mega Man Powered Up. So what if the PSP doesn't have any killer apps, Mega Man is the killer app for me.

Is it the new Halo? From what I've read and seen about Hunters, it certainly looks to be the killer app for the Nintendo DS, like how Halo was the killer app for the (cough) Xbox (cough).

Don't get me wrong, I love Halo. And I am glad that Nintendo was inspired to create a game similar in stature to Halo.

Mega Man X is on the PSP! MMX is one of my favorite games of all time! I played that game nonstop on the Super Nintendo, and I can't wait to play it on the PSP!

Also that new Mega Man Powered Up looks great. You can create your own levels! Now if only Nintendo would offer a level editor in Mario games...

I tried burning the music files to a CD, but they can't be played in a normal CD player. How do I convert MIDI files to .wav files?
