Never mind the Perl stuff, I'm working on something else now. What's it called? Vs. That's it. Vs. It's a collection of VS. modes for many games of different series, all for 2 people. Games that didn't have a deathmatch mode do now! Games like Mario, Zelda, Megaman, and Metroid will all have 2 player VS. games. Crazy idea? Maybe, but it's a way to see if you or a friend is better at a certain 1 player game! Planned on are:

Mario:
Super Mario Bros. 1 - jump on the other player
Super Mario Bros. 2 - pick up the other player and throw him into the wall spikes
Super Mario Bros. 3 - jump on the other player or kick shells at him
Super Mario World - jump on the other player, spin jumps do double damage

Zelda:
Zelda 1 - stab away the other player's 3 hearts.
Zelda 2 - This one deserves a VS mode most. You know what to do!
Zelda 3 - stab, dash or throw away the other player's 3 hearts

Megaman:
Megaman 1-6(the NES ones) - shoot away the other player's life bar

Metroid:
Metroid 1 - shoot away the other player's energy meter
Metroid 3 - same thing

I probably won't have the patience to finish ALL of them, but what's there is there.............

That's why I'm not including MM7, it HAS its own Vs. mode. This is for games that DON'T have VS. modes.

I entered Ultimate Mario Bros. in a retro game programming competition. Mario games didn't seem to appeal to the judges at the last one, so I doubt I'll get any place.

Got a new version of Ultimate Mario Bros. out here. Adventure mode is now finished. You'll never guess who the final boss is!
