Every once in a while, there comes a video game that is well-known and loved. However, these video games, at some stages in their developments, have deep, dark secrets... Waiting to be discovered... Welcome to...

GREAT VIDEO GAME MYSTERIES!
(echo 3x, fade)

Anyway, the point of this thread is to try to "flush out" mysteries about video game secrets. (Like Luigi in SM64, Citadel in Goldeneye, etc.) If anyone has a question about something like this, they can ask, and someone who knows the answer can answer it, thus clearing all confusion and misconceptions about the game. I'll go first:

What's the deal with that truck in Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow by the S.S. Anne? As you're about to go on the ship, surf to the right, and there is a tiny island that has a truck on it. I tried to move it with Strength, but nothing happened. Does it have anything to do with "Mew"?

Sometimes stuff doesn't get into the game because there wasn't enough time or memory.
The truck might have been meant for something originally, but didn't make it in.
And let me "flush out" a secret for you.
Luigi is not in Mario 64. Not in it. Look all you want, you won't find him.
Glad that was flushed.

I already know Luigi isn't in SM64, I just used that as an example. Sheesh.

Who DOESN'T know that Luigi isn't in Super Mario 64?

Not long ago, Mario Maniac made up this crazy rumor about Luigi being in SM64. After that, everyone yelled at him. It was kinda funny, in a sad way...

Oh, yeah... Can anyone tell me about the truck?

Actually, you can just not get on the boat and come back when you have it.
Gosh, I can't believe I even remember that.

You can do that in two ways (since the boat leaves after aquiring Cut):
1) Have someone trade you a Pokemon that already knows Cut
2) Recieve Cut, then lose to one of the trainers aboard the ship so you are transported back to the Pokemon Center

I can believe I remember that.

Unless you cheated to get past gym leaders so your Pokemon can't use cut outside of battle yet. :kicks everyone who does: And what's wrong with the little truck, it's just a little decoration, why does everyone have to pick on him*? =,(

*= Can trucks be male or female?

Do the Mario! Swing your arms from side to side, come on, it''s time to go do the Mario! Take one step, and then again, let''s do the Mario all together now! You got it! It''s the Mario! Do the Mario! Swing your arms from side to side, come on, it''s time to go do the Mario! Take one step, and then again! Let''s do the Mario altogether now! Come on now! Just like that!

This is off topic, but it is a video game mystery...

In Star Fox for the SNES (the original Star Fox game) there's a place called the "Black Hole", which I've never been able to get into.  Is that just for decoration too?  Or is there some way to get into it?  The instruction manual says that if you "stray off course too much, you might end up in places like the Black Hole."

It's a really ancient game, but I was just wondering.

The truck is picked on because it is hidden. If it wasn't hidden, nobody'd care.
