She was in "Super Mario Land 3: Warioland" and "Warioland II."
In WL, she and her pirates had stolen a giant golden statue of Princess Toadstool from the Mushroom Kingdom. Wario goes to steal it from the pirates before Mario can get it back, and he runs into Captain Syrup and her genie. He beats her genie, takes her treasures, but Mario gets the statue back before he can grab it. Wario still has the Captain's genie, though, and wishes for a castle to rule the island from. Yeah for Wario!
But Captain Syrup wasn't going to sit back and watch as Wario embarrassed her and her troop, so in WL2, she went to kick Wario out of his castle and get back her treasure. She succeeds at first, but Wario soon kicks her butt again and retakes his castle and island. The Captain certainly holds a grudge against out yellow and purple clad "friend."
