Game Help / Mario Golf Advance: any cheats for the GameCube chars?
« on: January 19, 2010, 06:04:48 PM »
is there a cheat code to obtain the "gamecube characters" (Bowser, Luigi, Waluigi, Wario) ?

alternatively, a gameshark savestate for the North American version would work for me

thanks a lot! ^_^

Here's a list of games Nintendo are designing:

Bowser's Keep: It's a dungeon-keeper kind of game.  Here you are Bowser trying to keep Mario and his friends away from you by setting up sneaky traps and collecting resources to enlarge your army of koopa monsters. Still early in the making.

Yoshi's Space Palace:  Boos kidnap several baby yoshies and hide them in a tall tall tower-palace located in outer space. A group of yoshies must save them. Looks like one of those 2-D bomberman games. Levels are maze-like and your job is to free little yoshies (6 in each level) and lead them to safety. Works a bit like Minimario levels in Mario Vs DK but in a maze game. Lots of fruits also appear. They give you bonus points. Get enought points to unlock palace floors (levels).

Super Mario History: This game is supposed to be a classic sidescrolling platform games with several worlds. each world has a different musical theme (classical, jazz, techno etc) and are related to a particular time in Mario's history. For example a level has many viruses from DrMario as enemies. The tune for that level is a remix of DrMario musics.
When you beat a world with a high score, a special level is unlocked. Each special level features the original SMB overworld tune!

Mario Party All-Stars: It looks like just another Mario Party game but each table and minigame has been carefully chosen from Mario party 1,2 and 3!  Bumper Balls looks awesome on the Cube.

Nintendo reserved the 100marios.com address so the game might have something to do with controlling an army of Marios to complete missions (just like Pikmin).  The same mechanic will appear soon in the next instalment of Donkey Kong for GBA  (was it Donkey Kong Plus?)

Mushroom Kingdom
Legendary Land
TAP: Add W to your mana pool.
Whenever you gain life you gain 3 more life. Life gained from this card don't trigger this ability again.

Gosh I played too much Magic. I'm making a whole fantasy set with cards like these °_°

I played a little with the rom and I can tell you that this game rocks.

Animations are nice, voices are funny, dialogues are laughtable.  Gameplay is easy to learn and quite challenging.  It also contains many references to old games and tunes.

The rule got changed.  I tried with a leaf.  It can turn you from small to racoon.

Mario Chat / Re: SMB3 to SMA4 SPOILERS!!

Only the JAP version has been released so far. Of course I played this version.

a few corrections from my opening post:

-After you complete the game, if you select a world different than World8 then you'll get to play several times the n-matching game. Dunno if it's a bug or a feature. (maybe the game thinks that once beaten the game the score should reset so makes you play once per every 80000 points in your total)

-super sliding images game: when you win at the normal minigame you find on Spade spaces, all Spade spaces become Heart spaces. the Heart sliding images game has a Leaf picture instead of the Star. it worths 7 lives.  If you win then all Heart become Clubs spaces.  The minigame now features a "3" symbol instead of leaf.  Complete it for 10 lives.  Win this version to make all clubs become Diamond spaces.  the diamond version makes you automatically complete a picture depending on how well you performed in the previous versions.  After Diamond, the spaces reset to Spades

-there are 2 types of e-cards so far: Levels (blue) and Items (green).
When you scan an Item card the pictured item is added to your item reserve.  Not much useful since you can visit mushroom houses at will after beating the game 100%.  They can be of some use if you can't beat it by your own.

Level cards are WAY more interesting: the one I've seen lets you play level 1-1 of SMB with SMB3 (SNES) graphics!
If you jump over the final pole you'll get a secret exit.

also there are items and enemies that will become available only by using e-cards. This includes Big Boo, Charging Chuck, Rip Van Fish and others.  As for items, I've seen Trampolines, Huge Veggies, Cape Feather and Boomerangs.

No yoshi for now.  He wasn't supposed to be in the game anyway.

The game is hardly hackable with cheating devices.  Looks like Nintendo don't like cheaters.  :)

too cool!  welcome to this forum by Cele from Italy.  Actually you are the first japanese one I found online.  I wonder if they are too shy or there is some other reason.

100 are enought.
check nintendo's subsite that doesn't exist yet to find out.
Not going to tell more for now.
(looks like Nintendo couldn't keep from spoiling its secrets)

We'll see more Marios than expected...

How many of them can you fit in a Cube?

:)

How can Mario jump so high? Is he super human with muscles that can exert more force faster than ours?

The Mushroom world has lesser gravity than Earth so people jumps higher. Also magic plays an important role. Additionally don't forget that Mario and Luigi train every day on perfect jumps. You'll see it in M&L (Mario & Luigi)

Does he have a steel plate in his head and a reinforce spine that allows him to hit his head on so many bricks?

He hits them with his fist. Also his fist is strong.

What about the Super Mushroom, Fire Flower, and Starman?

Those are items and not living people, althought they have eyes. The mushroom people made them that way to give them a nicer look

Note that Mario and co. collected so many extra lives that they are now semi-immortal. That's why nowadays Nintendo is filling up their classic games with lots of extra lives (I never lost all my lives in SMA3) and here's why Mario, Bowser play tennis, kart racing and boardgames instead of trying to destroy each other. It's just not worth it.

Mario Chat / Re: Mario Kart Double Dash
« on: April 23, 2003, 03:58:58 PM »
way too cool!
so that's what I can understand by looking at pics:

the "new secred game mechanic" is TEAM PLAY! two racers may stay on the same kart. One drives, the other fires shells or bananas at opponents.

koopa troopa is back!

birdo is a cool new entry (teaming up with yoshi... it is supposed that yoshies and birdos are related species)

boxes look like in MK64. Also I don't see coins.

Karts have different design(not just different color karts then) I think it is possible to drive someone's else kart  (in one pic Luigi is driving Peach/Daisy's kart)

Mario Chat / Re: What's the first Mario game you ever beat?
« on: March 20, 2003, 05:17:32 PM »
The first video game I finishied was Mighty Bombjack for Commodore 64.  altought I was pretty good at it, I had to use an infinite lives cheat because it was long.

The first Mario game I beat was SMB3 from the all-stars collection.

Currently I'm working hard on Pinball of the Dead (GBA) until the next mario game pops in.
