I'll agree with this, with the exception being RPGs.

Are you kidding me?! Quest 64 was the best RPG to ever grace my Nintendo 64. </sarcasm>

The Goosbumps books were horrible. When all the kids in second grade were reading that, I was too busy with The Hardy Boys.

Also, as a critic of the text, I do not believe that R.L. Stine is one man, but rather a pen name for a collection of poor horror writers.

What is the average age of members on this forum?

What sort of average do you have in mind? There are many methods by which one may calculate this statistic.

There once was an Italian plumber
Who went on vacation one summer
He stepped off the plane,
Went nearly insane:
"This plot could not have been dumber."

That made me smile.

Five, seven, then five
Syllables in a haiku
It is not that hard

When I was in high school, our school's writing contest would not allow haikus.

I made a "super haiku," which was 5 haikus, then 7, then 5 more. They were all, of course, on the topic of how the school was erasing creative possibilities. Interestingly, that won the poetry. My other poem about the music industry came in second. I also won first and second place in non-fiction. I got $160 out of the whole deal, so I think the extra effort was worth it.

Here's a brief overview of what I have to do:r.
5. Go through my video camera's settings to switch from output to input mode.

My Sony Handycam DCR-TRV280 has no input function. You are fortunate that your camera's options allow for a switch between output and input of the composite video/audio device.

For my least favorites I choose:
- Dire Dire Docks (trying to swim into the Manta Ray's rings while the whirlpool is pulling you in is so difficult, as is trying to open the chests in the same area)
- Lethal Lava Land (falling into the lava while trying to fight the Big Bully is really frusterating)
- Tall Tall Mountain (really boring course with nothing to do except climb)

You don't like levels becuase they're difficult? I think that the levels that I find the most challenging are also the most fun.

Mario Chat / Re: The Hardest Mario Game
« on: August 26, 2008, 09:00:37 PM »
The hardest game is, without doubt, Mario Party 1.

Allow me to explain myself.

Mario Party is not quite difficult in the traditional sense of the word. To beat story mode, your simple task is to defeat mini-games. There is, however, one extremely difficult mini-game that makes beating the rest of the game impossible. I'm not sure of its name, but it involves a river raft and savage shy guys. I've never been entirely sure why these vicious brutes want to spear the various characters.  I happen to think that this game's programmers were mad. The wild shy guys do not make this level difficult. It is the control method. If, by the end of the mini-game, your palms are not blistered, there is clearly something wrong. After all the pain, you are afraid to turn the game on.

Mario Party 1. Hardest game ever.

If customs officials get you, you could face a federal offense for tampering with natural things, or something.

Turtlekid1 just made it onto my "needlessly annoying" members list.

I think that there's about 6 people who aren't on mine.

I have always been a fan of Tall, Tall Mountain. I remember when I first found the secret slide after bumping into the fake wall. Magical times.

Although I have always enjoyed Tall, Tall Mountain, Whomp's Fortress has been my favorite since I bought the game back in the 90s. I explored there a lot when I was younger, so I guess that hanging out there now brings me back to simpler times. I like being reminded that there was a time before college and high school when being alive was so much easier (and cheaper, too).
