Vidgchtr, are you calling me crazy? Because the only thing that will make Mario more appealing to a broader demographic is lots of violence. If it makes you feel better, they could thinly disquise the characters by renaming Mario Nario or whatever.

Yes, violence.  Pointless, stupid violence.  People in this country are addicted to violence.  It's terrible.  Will the stupid media ever just stop with all this violence and guns crap?  The true answer would be no.  Definatly not.

What on earth makes violence so appealing? And why? Why must everything have it? If a game contains little to no violence, it makes it "bad"? Is everyone training to be serial killers or something? And Glorb, why would Mario Kart "NEED" violence? The premise of all the Mario Kart games is based on RACING, not BLOOD AND GORE! Why would a racing game need blood and gore? For the heck for it? NO. It's a completely pointless thing!

*Wonders who Vidgchtr is*

...Anyway, a game doesn't need to be violent and filled with blood and firearms and gore to be popular for older audiences. Look at Deezer, he's in his mid-20s, and he loves Mario.

I live in the South Pole, and the penguin elders don't allow us to play gory games. However, I've found Death Rally quite addictive. :)

Now you're with me! Death Rally is awesome! And my penguin elders get on my case too. Odd, considering I'm from America.

I just wanted to vindicate the point that Zelos is awesome.

 Continue.

I am happy to say that I agree with everything Vidgmchtr has said in this topic.

Ever notice how the name "Playstation" sounds more kiddy than "Gamecube" or "Nintendo 64"?

Yeah, me too. Violence is something that appeals to many people but not most of us. Heh, Zelos rocked. He is one of my favorite ToS characters.

Mario Mario he''s our man, If he can''t triple-jump and ground-pound, no one can!

Glorb, tell me, why would you want extreme violence in Mario games? Nintendo has a few violent franchises. Star Fox and upcoming Geist and probably Zelda. T-rated is fine, but would you think that violence would be an enhancement to the gameplay?

Well, Mario's clothes are red, so if he died and was covered in blood, it wouldn't be visible, so little kids' fragile minds wouldn't be warped at the sight of blood.
