The YI Castle theme will ALWAYS be #1 on my list. Here's a few songs that I saw that I like as well.

I also think that the YS World 6 theme is great. I mean, I remember the very first runthrough of the game... I mean, I had only 1 Yoshi left (And, in hindsight, I realise just how bad you have to SUCK to only have 1 Yoshi when you reach W. 6) and the music made me play far more cautious than I would have (One of the few times where a graphical/musical influence has affected my gameplay...) ... but I still won.

Anyways, Aside from the 5 I originally listed, I also like:

The MK: SC Rainbow Road song (Especially the first few measures)
And the General Guy battle. How'd I forget about that one?

I know there's more...

Heh, the YI castle theme drives my mom nuts.

I fear the monkey in your soul.
That was a joke.

Here's mine. Some new, some already been mentioned:

5)SMRPG - Chasing Wooster up the hill
4)SMB - Water theme
3)SM64 - Rainbow road (you know, the last SM64 level, not MK)
2)SMBSS - "Do the Mario" by Lou Albano
1)PM - Getting chased by Tubba Blubba theme (I could whistle that song for ever!)

Right, now for my non-Mario top ten (I tried five but couldn't narrow them down enough):

10)Zelda 2 - Dungeon theme
9)Kirby's dream land - End credits theme (It's similar to the Green Greens level on SSBM but much faster and, of course, beepier!)
8)SSBM - The secret music on Battlefield level
7)DK64 - End fight with K.Rool music (isn't that just the best damb boss fight ever invented!)
6)Zelda OOT - The music you get against the fire bosses ( the big dodongo and the dragon) 'cause my hairs still stand on end when that music is playing!
5)DK64 - The DK rap (much better than on SSBM in my view)
4)Tetris - Song A (you know the one!)
3)Zelda Link's awakening - Bottle grotto dungeon
2)Luigi's mansion - The main theme with Luigi's humming (gets better as he gets more scared!)
1)Tetris attack - Yoshi's theme (OH GOD! It's stuck in my head right now!)

An animator once saw a street bum, "Mario" Pedianni, and wanted to use his likeness in a cartoon, offering him a percentage of all future royalties or a bottle of cheap scotch. Pedianni took the scotch. Nothing''s stupider than a skid row plumber.

Yes, the YS World 6 theme (Level select and level themes, both are neat.)

I also like:

Bowser's theme from TA. The Select a mascot theme, and the level theme. I ALMOST was able to write sheet music for the latter. (I needed more percussion though)

My favorite Non-Mario song HAS to be the Hyrule Castle theme from TloZ: A Link to the Past. (You know, the VERY first castle you enter?)

And the SM64 Credits theme. One of the few songs in that mood I like.

As for the Castle theme... I could probably probably write sheet music for that, too... (Yes, I can hear all the background parts)

The YS World 6 music is cool... really insane. I like the YS Title Screen music for some reason too.

Watoad. Yoshi's Story, not Ys.

EDIT: Now it dawns on me, Steve... You were talking about Yoshi's Story, right? Not Yoshi's Safari.

I fear the monkey in your soul.

I'll say the Tubba Blubba and Huff n' Puff boss musics are up on my top 5.

I've forgotten how Huff'n'Puff's music goes. I must play PM again anyway so i'll listen to it.

Ah, Paper Mario music. I really need to get the real game so I can hear it without the awful sound skipping of Project64.
(Yes, I got all the PM sprites for Deezer that way. Heheh)

Yoshi's Safari is one of about 3 Non-NGC Mario games I've never played. Yes, I was referring to Yoshi's Story there.

I liked a lot of PM's music, actually. Including the final Bowser fight... But the Tubba Blubba themes (Castle, chase, and fight) Are the best. They should make a song combining all three somehow.

Chapter 3. Best music, worst plot.

I like a lot of it too... the stuff I could actually hear. But some of the orchestration seems annoying to me.

I guess mine are: (They're all from Mario and Zelda too!)

1: Zelda 2 - Great Palace (Although hard to hum, too many sounds to make)
2: PM - Huff n' Puff
3: PM - Tubba Blubba
4: Zelda 2 - Dungeon (My mom said she actually heard me huumming this in my sleep once!)
5: ALTTP - Ganon

SSBM:Dr. Mario Theme
SM64:Princess's Secret Slide
SM64:Metal-Cap Theme

I haven't visited this topic in awhile, so I'm replying to some posts that appear a little ways back.

Chupperson, I didn't think Steve actually meant Ys. But Ys music is so darn good that, when I see the letters "Y" and "S" alone together, I can't help but make the association.

I own the domestically released Paper Mario soundtrack. However, since I haven't beaten the game yet (too many other games in the way), I have yet to listen to it (I don't want to "spoil" the music).
