- You don't know which which button makes Mario move.
- Mario moved his house into a bottomless pit, since that's where he'll usually be when you're in control of him.
- Count Bleck breaks the forth wall and says you, the player, was his motivation for opening the void in SPM.
- Any parts of Mario's face you stretched on the SM64 title screen are stretched in game.

Bowser's men run out of Poisonous mushrooms while Peach's castle is overloaded with Stars, Mushrooms, etc.
The Koopa shell kicks itself forward out of pity.
When you point the Wii Remote at the screen to tattle on an enemy, she points at you instead.
The Spicy Soup you feed Peach was spiked with strychnine.
You repetitively press the Start button thinking it was an a special move that gave Mario the power to stop time.
