I remember that guests were always lost in my mazes, always coming close to the end but then immediately going in the other direction.

First time I played it was at a friend's house. I became so obsessed that I bought a copy myself, and beat most of the available scenarios. I've made several Mario-themed parks to the best I could, using many mushroom objects from the Wonderland scenery set.

Over the course of time I bought him Corkscrew Follies and Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 for his birthday and for Christmas. He copied RCT2 and gave it to me shortly afterward.

In RCT2 I completely leveled one of the available parks and saved it in a file, so I could always play around with this empty space with all the themes and rides, rather than using the scenario builder, which I felt took a lot of time to use. I once used ALL the space to my advantage, building at least 20 roller coasters with the stations high above the ground.

I thought the third link actually brings up some good points, despite its title.

...and on a side note, it actually doesn't go with what SB's saying...

When Dudley finds himself sealed into the snake exhibit: "When miming becomes all too real."
"Divination: the communications degree of the wizarding world."

What really annoyed me about the third one is how Hagrid's hut went from being at the edge of a field to suddenly on the side of a mountain. Same thing with the Whomping Willow and the Fat Lady's painting.

The first two movies were good, but the other three were totally MEH.
However, the first three are worth watching with Rifftrax.

Not at the Dinner Table / Re: Evolution in school and whatnot
« on: April 15, 2009, 02:10:04 PM »
I don't think it necessarily has to be black and white. I heard that the Vatican accepts evolution as fact. As mentioned in South Park, evolution could be "the answer to how and not the answer to why." I believe that the two views could co-exist without any dangerous consequences.

But from an academic standpoint, intelligent design is a very religious (and unscientific) subject, and schools are focused on what is concrete to our current understanding of the universe. Evolution has been proven by my knowings (although how it works is still theory), and so it ought to be taught. And given the number of religions today (all with different ideas on the start of mankind) I don't believe explicitly pushing the Christian view of ID (if that is the one in discussion) on students is needed. However, I do recall my textbook in middle school briefly mentioning man's early ideas of the planet (Hindu for example), before moving on to the scientific bulk of the subject about the planet. I'm not exactly sure. A passing reference to intelligent design is ok in regards to learning about man's understanding of the planet, but making the idea a solid part of the curriculum as cold, hard fact isn't necessary.

From my experience, a sensor bar stand would be quite useful, as mine often slips on my small TV over and over.

I'm glad the release date for Wii Sports Resort has been announced: it's a little before my birthday!

A world where people go on message boards and endlessly link to websites about random stuff that tick them off.

Pokémon Yellow was my only Pokémon game until Platinum. It's kinda like how Legend of Zelda for NES was my only LoZ game until Twilight Princess. I remember that Super Smash Bros. got me interested in Pokémon (especially the anime), and I borrowed Yellow from my next door neighbor for a while. I lost complete interest for almost 7 or so years, until Super Smash Bros. Brawl got me interested again. Then my college buddies (who were big Pokémon fans when they were young) and I bought the entire first season of the anime on DVD, and we LOVE it. Now I own Platinum and have clocked 13 hours into it so far.

We haven't seen a new Mario Party for 2 years, so it's definitely died down as well.
