Today I got Mario Kart DS. I stopped by a McDonalds on the way home from the game store to try out the wifi, and learned the literal definition of a "one-track mind".
I opened a search for opponents and came up with two, So, then we got to voting on tracks. As I was largely unfamiliar with them all, I voted random. It came up Rainbow Road. The other two votes were also Rainbow Road.
"Dang," I thought, "what a track to jump into wifi mode with. I guess it's sink or swim."
I sank, but not too badly. One opponent was clearly very professional, and, after the first 30 seconds, was never seen. The other opponent and I carried out some petty squabbling, and I ended up third.
So, it was time for the next round, and voting comes up: I pick random, the pro picks Rainbow Road, the other guy picks Baby Park.
Rainbow Road wins again, and I endure another long round. This time I was nearly able to pass the pro in the first lap, but lost sight soon after, and resorted once more to squabbling with the other guy. I finished second.
Third race comes up, and the votes roll in: Rainbow Road, Baby Park. Determined NOT to play Rainbow Road for a THIRD time, I side with Baby Park. One lackluster round later, I finish second.
So, by this time, I think MAYBE the others'd want to change things up a bit? I vote random, and am countered once more by Rainbow Road and Baby Park.
Honestly... I'd go on about this, but I'm not an advocate of meaningless rantings.
