Nope, I get my caffeine fix in other ways.

The drink I drink most is water, but occaisionally I'll drink whatever is at a party, sodas, wine coolers (They're offered to me), etc...

I don't like coffee. So I have to achieve my state of bizarre, incoherently mumbling, three-o-clock in the morning stupidity, by other means.

Ironically, I was watching a really bad movie (The Skydivers) in which the characters discussed nothing but coffee.

"Coffee? I LIKE coffee!"

"So, how long have you known coffee?"

"Where is it, your coffee?"

"Even the soundtrack's making coffee!"

My largest flaw in life is bad skin, so I'm doomed to drink only water, carbonated water or flavored water for the rest of my life.  I'm only allowed to drink soda when I go to a fast food place, which isn't very often, or when I go to a party or something.

Chupps wrong.  Soda does affect your skin.  It's not directly because of the sugar or caffein although they can affect your body in many negative ways.  Most sodas contain phosphoric acid which has a pH of about 2.6 to 2.8.

Your body is 78% water with the cells containing 98% water.  Recent studies have shown that healthy people tend to have slightly alkaline body fluid while sick people tend to be more acidic.  Drinking soda makes your body more acidic.  This is a strong correlation (doesn't prove cause), but it's enough for me to be wary of drinking large amounts of acidic colas.

All acid if not bad for you.  Although orange juice is acid, it's net affect on your body is to make it more alkaline.  Also, a solution of about 2% salicylic acid used to clean your face can actually reduce the likelyhood of pimples.

I stopped drinking large amounts of soda and other caffeinated beverage when I had kidney stones.  That was the worst pain I have ever had.  Many people have compared kidney stones in men to child birth for women, but I don't and never will have that experience to compare.

When I became less worried about kidney stones I started drinking one or two sodas sodas a day and later noticed a weight gain that I attributed to the effect of their sugar.  So as a test I stoped drinking sodas altogether and lost 10 to 15 pounds in just a few weeks.  I haven't had a soda since, and haven't gained the weight back.

I love coffee, as long as there's enough sugar. But I get powerful headaches, among other things, when I have caffeine so I'd have to go for decaf.

GiftedGirl, did you know that caffeine can have a reverse effect on kids with ADHD? It's true; some stimulants act as depressants to ADHD sufferers. The drug Ritalin is really a stimulant, but they give it for ADHD because it gives the opposite effect, for some strange reason.

Uh... right, um...  GiftedGirl, I'm afraid you have, well, the wrong facts.  Although someone might think that stimulants like caffeine and nicotine will only act up ADD and ADHD, many people use them to actually treat ADD and ADHD because they help the sufferer (or "sufferer" to skeptics) by stimulating parts of the brain that help them focus.

But, anyways, I'll admit it: I'm a Starbucks quazi-patron.

I don't really like coffee. I know a lot of people who do. I'm not old enough to drink yet, but even when I am, I probably won't. I like SoBe (Go to a gas station to see what I mean). In the morning I drink milk. What would cereal be without it?

What were you drinkin'? Bucketloads of Mountain Dew?

I can only have the caffiene-free stuff. Root beer's my favorite. Followed by caffiene-free Pepsi. I can sometimes handle a little bit of regular Pepsi, but any more caffiene than that and the headaches start. Fairly recently, I was at an Xbox LAN party, and they were handing out Mountain Dews, but I wasn't watching so I just popped the tab and started drinking. On the way home(strangely enough, these caffiene aftereffects only seem to hit me AFTER I'm done playing video games), the headaches got so bad that I got carsick. That night sucked so bad.....

(On the other hand, I did whomp everyone really bad at Halo 2 that night. So they set my handicap up to Mild, then Moderate, and when I was still crackin' heads on Severe, they knew I was on something! Makes me wonder if the side effects are really worth it...)

In college I stayed up all night in a study group for a Physical Chem final and had 2 to 4 liters of Moutain Dew.  We I went to leave the next morning to take the test it was freezing out and my trucks battery was dead.  I have to hitch a ride to campus to take the test.  That was a rough one.  I passed the final with a C, but thing I could have done much better if I had slept.

Lean SoBe drinks use Splenda.  So far it's the safest of the commercially available artificial sweetners, but it hasn't been on the market long, and hasn't had any long term studies yet.

The herb Stevia is by far the best, but it's an herb that the FDA has not approved as a sugar substitute.
