Here's some of what I'd like to see in the upcoming enstallment of MarioKart:

Cast of Characters:
-Mario
-Luigi
-The Great Wario
-Peach
-Daisy
-Yoshi
-Kamek
-Koopa T. Quick (aka Koopa Troopa)
-Toad
-Donkey Kong
-Donkey Kong Jr.
-Bowser
-All 7 Koopa Kids on one kart :)
-a Goomba

New Race Courses

-Course based on the first level of the classic Donkey Kong arcade game: complete with burning oil drums and rolling barrels

-Koopa Kid's airships:  7 airships, all connected by rickety boards w/ no railing :)

-Wario's Castle:  Captain Syrup flies around on one of her flying contraptions, dropping bombs on the track

Oh yeah, there also needs to be a taunt button!

Well, in the U.S "Peach" is also slang for something a little racier. . .

I think goomba is slang meaning the same as thug or goon, which makes sense when you think about it.  Para (as in Para-troopa) is French (I think) for "flying" or "flight" or something similar.  Like PARAchute.

Hinopio is a fat 'shroom person that has a shop in Barrel Volcano, his top is black with fire on it.  If I'm not mistaken, the switch from Kinopio to Hinopio has something to with the Japanese word for fire or something like that.

Stool means both "doo-doo" and a chair sort of thing.  Toadstool is another word for mushroom, because toads supposedly use them as stools (not doo-doo).  Get it?

No.  For the love of God, no.  Mega 2, I know you don't like Yoshi's Island, but that's no reason to drag Yoshi down to the scummy, blackened pits where characters like Jar Jar Binks dwell.  Yoshi's Story on the other hand. . . }:D

I don't see what the big problem is, the Mario games are supposed to be games that loosely tie to each other, but are for the most part stand alone games.  That's why we see the repeating plot point.

Is the princess-kidnapping thing really so bad anyway?  I think its just one of the more humorous quirks of the Mario series.  I've never really minded it. . .

My favorite battle course, hands down, has got to be the Skyscraper in Mario Kart 64.  Total chaos :)
