Awesome!  It may have been more awesome if they had started in the city with some better music then jumped down a warp pipe that changed the music and scene to a SMB style.

Video Game Chat / Sony Announces Mouse and Keyboard Controller for PS3
« on: October 14, 2011, 06:33:05 PM »

Source:  http://www.gameranx.com/updates/id/3312/article/sony-announces-mouse-and-keyboard-controller-for-ps3/

My first reaction was, "Cool!"  But then, it's just a mouse and keyboard combo.  I already have that. "The pad also includes an easy-access D-Pad comes attached with a palm rest."  So, it's a keyboard/mouse combo with a d-pad.  I'm interested, but not sold.

My first reaction was, "Cool!"  But then, it's the mouse and keyboard combo that makes PC gaming cool.  Where's the mouse/analog input?  "An ultra-sensitive multi-touch screen." Interesting.  Oh, this is for casual gamers.  So, it's an iPad with a multi-touch/keyboard style input?  I'm interested, but not sold.

"Scientists play ping-pong with single electron using paddles made of sound.  Scientists have managed to play 'ping-pong' with an electron, sending it back and forth from well to well sixty times. Control over single electrons may be a way to make quantum computing a reality."

General Chat / Gamers Needed for Science

The University of Washington game called FOLDIT is a sort of “Tetris on steroids,” but the puzzles solved by gamers may help researchers discover and develop new medications.  A recent discovery by games may lead to a cure for AIDS.  Don't waste your time gaming; Game for Science!

General Chat / Necktie suggestions...
« on: September 17, 2011, 07:45:04 PM »
Before I start I should say that I already own a few dozen ties that are unremarkable, and want to expand my collection of novelty ties.

Here's a few notables I already have:

Here's a wishlist I put together on Amazon (145 ties as of this posting):

BTW, my school's colors are blue and orange and we are the Spartans.

Do you have any suggestions from the Amazon wishlist above or can you post something that I don't have listed?

If I get an overwhelming response for a certain tie or if anyone purchases a tie for me I will post a picture or two of me wearing it.

Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Edit:  I've added several gaming ties to the wishlist.  http://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/3TI7W7BU5YNV1

What have you previously thought, but found was incorrect?

Here's one I just had:  ...wrestling with a friend who has poison ivy. What will happen?

While I wasn't sure if it would spread from person to person, I believed that scratching would make it spread on yourself.

Not at the Dinner Table / Predictions
« on: August 10, 2011, 05:40:05 PM »
You can't predict the future.  You have to invent it  Having said that, anyone have predictions for the future?

- Privacy won't be important in the near future and will not even exist in the far future.  (I'm working on a novel along these lines.)

I'll discuss more about my novel and add more predictions later.

Mario Chat / K'NEX MARIO KART
« on: August 03, 2011, 09:50:10 AM »
I was just at Target to get another bookshelf and saw these.  I've wanted a LEGO Mario set for a long time, but these K'NEX sets are nearly as good.  I bought the Mario kart and Luigi bike, but they also had Mario bikes, Luigi and Yoshi karts.  In addition there were several tracks and add-ons that I couldn't find on the K'NEX site and are sold out on Target.com.
