On the title screen where it shows the island and says "Yoshi's Island", up in the top right corner there are stars. What do they mean?
It's Mario's world, I just live in it. :)

Ooh! I think those signify every world you've completed 100%.

Yes, each star represents a world you've scored 100% in all levels on. A perfect file would have 6 stars.
