I think that all three of the forums (fora?) should be condensed into one.  The bottom two aren't posted on that much, and the topics sort of overlap.

Mario Chat / Re: cool! i never noticed (about the Mario movie)

What bugs me is those people who mainly know about the "Super Mario Bros." movie, and not the games.  Like this one time, my art teacher was talking about proportions and used "Goomba" as an example (the ones in the movie have heads disproportunately small for their bodies) which really bugged me, because to me Goombas are about 90% head/mushroom with a tiny body and huge feet.  Those Goombas in the "Mario" movie are a disgrace!  They look like a cross between Jedi Master Yarael Poof from "The Phantom Menace" and Neo from "The Matrix."  And they carry Super Scope 6s?  Come on!  Can we say despirate marketing attempt?  I mean, those things were out of stores before the movie even came out on video.  I will give them one thing: the movie looked convincingly de-evolved from the games.

What do you mean by 2?  There are dozons, if not hundreds of warp zones in the whole of "Super Mario World."  Do you mean like a trans-level warp zone, like the ones in "Super Mario Bros." and "Super Mario Bros. 2?"

How was it different?  I know I've asked this before, but I really want to know.  My friend says there is (or was) a version of "Super Mario World" out where for flying you had a raccoon tail (from "Super Mario Bros. 3") instead of the yellow cape in the "final" Super Nintendo version.  Is what you played the same game as he was talking about?

I think it's time for the black mushroom.

That's because Sonic and Tails are a blatant ripoff of Mario and Luigi.

Site Discussion / Re: Mario commercials
« on: July 03, 2000, 07:31:38 AM »
I saw 2 commercials for "Super Mario World 2," then never heard about it again.  That was weird, considering how much hype there was over "Super Mario World" and "Super Mario Bros. 3."  I remember calling up Blockbuster to see if they had "Super Mario World 2" to rent, and nobody on staff knew it existed.  Why was it advertised so little?  I know it's a pretty lousy game, but did it bomb that bad?

Look, it's not like "Bowser" and "Koopa" are alternate names.  His name is "Bowser Koopa," thus it's only logical that some sources will call him "Bowser" and some "King Koopa."  I think most of the game manuals call him "Bowser Koopa," and that's what they called him on the "Super Mario Bros. 3" cartoon show.

Luigi already has his own game, "Mario is Missing."  As I understand it, Luigi takes center stage in that game.

M. K. Mario- I went to the U.R.L. you posted, but I couldn't find anything there about "Vs. Mario Bros." or the other "Mario Bros." games.  Are you sure that's the address of the right site?  Do you know what "Vs. Mario Bros." is?

They called him Bowser all the time.  The way I found out his name was Bowser was from the cartoon show.

My cousin says he got over the one in 3-3 of "Super Mario Bros." original with "Duck Hunt."  I've tried it in that, "All-Stars" version, and "Super Mario Bros. Deluxe" but it never works for me.  It's easy in some places in "The Lost Levels," though.

I've discussed this before on this forum.  I think it's under "Game Compilations" or some title like that.  It's on this site.  It's "Vs. Mario Bros." I know next to nothing about.

And "mario" [sic].

I always assumed "Doomba" and "The Goombas" were the same person, due to the similar names and opinions.
