I love the remake, just as much as I do the original. I would love it more than the original, but the controls just aren't as natural as the N64 version. Despite all the extra content, the controls hurt it THAT bad. Even having the circle pad on the 3DS instead of the D-pad barely helps at all.
But it's worth having. It looks better than the original N64 version if you ask me, the only thing I don't like about it's visuals is the ugly shade of yellow-green dropped onto Bob-omb Battle Field.
And I'm a sucker for games that have multiple playable characters that play pretty much the same with a few tweaks to make them different. I really wish more Mario games would go that route.
